Good day,

I will bring for the first time to WDW my 2 sons, looking for character meals and or dinner shows suggestions for 2 boys 8 and 9 yrs old...they are not really into princess (yet...)

Thank you

Some of our favorites are Cape May at the BC (breakfast), Chef Mickeys, and Ohanas :).

For breakfast I would choose Tusker House in AK with an early ADR so you can enter the park early.

For dinner I would go to CM. I know it gets a lot of negative reviews but we had dinner there a year ago and it was fine. The food was good, the buffet was maintained very well and clean. Plus you have the fab 5 and each character spent a lot time at each table.:thumbsup2

Another thing i would consider is dinner at Park Faire. I hear the step sisters are a hoot and I think boys would be entertained as well:goodvibes

I have two boys, a little older, but they've been to WDW at 8 and 9. For character meals, they like Tusker House and Chef Mickey's the best. But not CM for dinner, only breakfast. They (and we) didn't care much for the dinner food at CM. Breakfast is good, but Tusker House is much better. Garden Grill was slightly better for the food and 10x better for the characters. We saw them all several times.

For meals that are not characters, they love Teppan Edo, for the chefs and the servers, Le Cellier for steak on the kids menu, Sci-Fi for the movies and milkshakes and Whispering Canyon Cafe for the antics. T-Rex is also fun, but not on the DDP. We always go there once and pay for it.

regards

OK tank you all, good recommendations, we will try to at least do CM and Tusker House for breakfast.

My boys are 6.5 and the only character meal they are interested in is Chef Mickey. So we are going there. Have never been, read the reviews, and decided we will try it out for ourselves. We are also going to T-Rex our first night in Orlando. I would love to do Wispering Canyon and I think the boys would love it. DH, on the other hand, said if I want ketchup, they'd just better give me the ketchup! Party pooper. So...we are not going to that ;)

I see that no one has mentioned Crystal palace. For breakfast (before RD), lunch or dinner. Great place if the kids like the Pooh characters. Even DH and I enjoyed our dinner and visit with the characters (and we were there on our 35th anniversary trip).

You also mentioned dinner shows: by all means give serious consideration to the HDDR. IMHO it is a GREAT evening that everyone should experience at least once, no matter what their age!
