Deb Wills site is reporting that character meal prices have increased. PRICE Increase for adults most buffets and dinner shows! HDD and Luau is now $49.01 per person. Most of the dinner meals are now close to $24.00. Storybook breakfast is $19.99 for adults. Disney is going to have to come up with something more than multiple Poohs, and the Fab five plus chipmunks in different costumes for me to justify $100 per meal.

**Sorry looks like the link in the second sentence is not going to work.

$19.99?!?!?!?!

what?!?!?

that's a ridiculous price increase!!!!
who the heck pays $20 for breakfast?!?!

grr... and i was thinking about finally trying a char breakfast at WDW this year. now i'm definitely boycotting them.

and i wish others would also boycott, but unfortunately i know there's still many that will pay the ridiculous price. :(
...and Disney wins again. :(

(anyway, just wanted to add, at least the increase to $19.99 is only at CRT and PSB)

Since I've been known to pay $32.50 for a brunch buffet here at home (St. Paul), I suppose I'm the kind of person who will pay $20 for breakfast.

I've always found Disney character breakfasts to be reasonably priced considering:

They are all you can eat
They provide contact with the characters
They are in a lovely setting
The food isn't bad
I pay $7 for an omlett at Perkins
I'm at Disney World, where I expect food to be priced at a premium
At Disney, I've been known to pay over a $1 for a bad donut.

As far as the price increase goes, my grocery bill has noticably increased over the past year. It is a reasonable assumption that Disney has seen their costs increase as well and is passing those costs along.

You won't see me boycotting, sorry.

Can't say I'm thrilled with the price increases, either. However, we're probably lucky that Disney doesn't price them even more (in keeping with the laws of supply and demand). Consider how much they could get for breakfast at the castle and still fill it up every morning!

i had planned on at least two character b-fast and was going to try and slip in a late lunch (early dinner) or two, guess that will be cut in half now!!

thanks for the info!

We will be there in 2 weeks, so I will check the prices. The only character meal we have planned is breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, but we will be in Epcot, so I will ask about the Storybook Princess Breakfast. Being that it is new, it is highly doubtful that the price has been increased that much so soon.

We did the Storybook Breakfast on Friday. We had been there a week and already had seen all the princesses anyway. The meal was good but definately overpriced. The characters are out a lot more than the previous years, so much easier to find. The Princesses did not spend a lot of time interacting either, with the acception of Mary Poppins. Aurora was BAD, she was painfully shy....must have been her first gig. She just followed the others around and signed autographs.

I'm going to grab Connections vouchers for adults character breakfasts for sure. How much did the kids go up to? As we've already booked our character meals, we won't be cutting back much. We're doing Tony's for lunch, CRT b-fast, Epcot Princesses, Garden Grill lunch, and LTT for supper on Thanksgiving. Our cut-back is Chef Mickey's our fist night. We'll head to Beaches and Cream with 2 of those $11 Connections vouchers instead. We consider the prices expensive, but we're paying to see characters without standing in line. We feel our sanity is worth it.

How much more are they per person? A couple of dollars, or more? I might have to skip some if they have gone up drastically:(

I have a PS for the StoryBook Princess Breakfast for this month that I'll be cancelling.

DH and I were trying it as something different, but it would have been hard to justify $15.99 on a buffet that we don't eat more than a plate of- with maybe some fruit....

Now that it's gone up to $19.99, it's even harder to justify.

The good news is that now we can book a PS for Kona.... he just loves that Tonga Toast- and we can split it with no extra charge and have plenty to eat!

Now I can save the money for another meal, or an extra sample or two at F & W!!

I ordered our vouchers for the Epcot Princess b-fast and CRT for $17.50 each which includes tax and tip. The kids vouchers still are no savings, though.

What happens if you have ressies for dinner shows
where a credit card was required? My friends were told what
the total charge to their card would be (I think it was
for the Backyard BBQ) prior to the increase.
