Character meals help me pick 1 please

Hi all. Just wondering how do the various character meals differ:

I want to do the Princess one & probably one other character meal. But which one?:

Lets see there is Pizza Planet (the new tea location), Lucky Nugget & Café Mickey -- any others? Which characters appear where/when/ and how much do they cost? Is the food different for the character meals if u use Hbplus?

Hi,

there's also the Steakhouse in the village (sunday lunch only) and inventions (in the disneyland hotel).

All of them have their champions and it depends on how much you're will to spend.

Cafe Mickey is very nice in my opinion (and isn't too expensive). My favourite though has to be inventions, although at 50 euros each + drinks, it's not a cheap option.

With half board plus, the buffets are the same choice. The table service restaurants tend to offer you a set meal, although I believe you can use the half board plus vouchers as part payment against anything on the menu if you don't fancy the set menu, although this can be slightly worse value for money.

If you can make the Sunday Brunch at the Steakhouse, I can recommend it. The food and characters are great and it is very good value for money, because drinks are included. In August it was just 10 Euros for my daughter to eat there.

Inventions is scrummy but expensive.

Lucky Nugget has lots of fans but is my least favourite character buffet.

Cafe Mickey is lively and can be noisy, but fun.

Hi Thanks for the advice. What time on Sunday is the character brunch (or is it lunch?) at the steakhouse? Is it a Buffet?

If my memory serves me correctly, it starts at about 12:30 and goes on until about 3ish.

It's called the Sunday Brunch, but it's served at lunchtime. It's a very good all you can eat buffet where drinks are included (including a glass of champagne when you go in) and plenty of good food choices...

Yes they take reservations and no you don't have to stay until 3. You just book your table at a time, have your meal, pay when you're finished and then leave.

It starts at 12.00. We had a booking for that time in August and got a lot of time with the characters as there were few people eating at that time.

Our favourites are in that order so I'd suggest Cafe Mickey

I've never been to Cafe Mickey for breakfast, only their lunch or dinner. The breakfast will be the cheapest of the three Cafe Mickey meals but I prefer to go to the parks then break up the day with a leisurely lunch or dinner. I would only have a character breakfast there if it was the only character meal the park offered.

As I've not been to Cafe Mickey for breakfast I can't say for sure, but I would imagine it's not going to be such a wide offering as at the Sunday Brunch.

It's not easy making these choices, is it! Too many restaurants and not enough days ~ you'll just have to book another trip!

We looked at the Breakfast at Cafe Mickey but on the 6 days that we walked past the restuarant we only ever saw one character on the Wednesday that was there.

I'd book Cafe Mickey for lunch personally. I'd avoid the character tea at Pizza Plannet as when I talked to a CM at City Hall about it the tea didn't sound worth the money.

I can't recommend Cafe Mickey highly enough. We love it!! It can be a bit expensive though.... Have you checked out the character dining options on the restaurant reviews thread? Theres some pictures and you'll get a better idea of whats on offer....

The restaurant reviews sticky is near the top of the board.

I think they change over about once every half hour or so (not sure the exact times I'm afraid), though in our experience this doesn't take very long - there were two sets of characters when we last went for lunch (just 2 courses) and we saw set A, then B, then A again before we left.

I would highly recommend getting there for it opening at 12 noon.... You get a bit more attention from the characters as its quieter....
