I'm still trying to decide if we should stay onsite in Sept. for free dining or off site...I'm wondering if all the character meals will be booked up already? Anyone know? Anyone had a link to all of them and #'s for reservations or recommendations? thanks! This board has been very helpful!

Stay on site! I think you would still be able to get some character meals (maybe not Norway) but there are so many to choose from. The number is 407-wdw-dine. Good Luck.

I'm going the first week of September and so far have booked:
Chef Mickey's (Character Breakfast)
50's Prime Time (Dinner)
Sci-FI (Lunch)
Ohana (Dinner)

and I am hoping to book Crystal Palace (Characters), but I cannot decide between breakfast or lunch (I'm not sure if I will be able to get either one)

We didn't decide that we were going until a couple of weeks ago, but I got all the times I wanted except that the 50's dinner is late (7:55pm). But we are all adults going so we don't have to worry about upset, fussing children.

I love staying onsite and cannot imagine staying offsite! To me it is part of the magic!!

I would try and stay onsite, the Dining Plan is wonderful esp if you have character meals. No standing in line for the characters in the park unless you want to. I knew DH would not stand in line to meet characters as easily as he would with rides so I had to work with that

In May, we did most of ours for lunch or breakfast. But I liked the lunch ones better, it was nice break out of the heat, we just ate a lot so then for dinner, depending on where we were we just grabbed counter service.

I like lunch better too bc I never knew how DS4 ws going to handle the day. I mean one day he konked out at 7. DH stayed in the room with him while I took DS9 to the arcade so it worked. And we parked hopped a couple of nights to cath Wishes and Illumniations.

But hey you need to do what works.

We did the following so if you have any questions:

Chef Mickey breakfast
Crystal Palace Lunch
Garden Grill Lunch
H&V Breakfast

Hope this helps!

im going september 3rd - 7th and am staying on site at All Star Movies!! I booked dinner reservations at spoodles, garden grill, and captin jacks, I also booked a character breakfest at Chef mickeys on my last day!!

We are staying on site the first week of September. I just booked the Norway Princess Storybook Breakfast yesterday, but I was not able to get the Chef Mickey's dinner time slot that I wanted. I was able to book California Grill in place of my Chef Mickey's dinner with no problem.

We are staying on site just for the character meals the 2nd week of Sept.

We had ADR's for:

Chef Mickeys
Crystal Palace
Cindrella's Royal Table
Norway Princess Breakfast

I'm going to be at WDW 9/4-9/12 and have made my ADR's the last 2 /3 weeks. My findings about an caractre involved ADR?

- Chef Mickey; wanted breakfast, but they only had 7 pm left on 2 days. Way to early with me staying at ASMo. Then tried for diner, the only option they had left was 9 pm on the day of my arrival. I booked it, allthough still doubting.
- Donalds Breakfastoraurus; no problem for breakfast. Could pick all kinds of days and times. (later decided to cancel)
- Cape May Cafe; no problem, could pick day and time again. (again; later decided to cancel)
- Christal Palace; again no problem for diner this time.

But keep in mind, our experience might not say anything about what you'll be able to get. As I've noticed, it also has to do with the size of your party. And off course, it could just happen that right before you call, someone canceled a spot at the day and time you like and you have the experience of having no problem at all, while it was booked solid for that day for weeks.

I would suggest ringing with what your reservation requests are for dinning and then if you cant get what you want that will answer whether to book on site or not. You dont have to be on site to make adr's for dinning so if you do that initially it will tell you what you should do:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
