hmm
i was just reading some of the tips here on the board
and someone said something about one of the character meals and TIPPING

i GUESS it makes sense
but at the same time, since it is a theme park/ they are paid (are they regular waitresses/waiters??)

do you all TIP?

i would HATE NOT to (i'm usually a good tipper and would obviously want to continue that at the happiest place on earth!!)

As far as I know the tip and tax is included , at least in Goofy's and Lilo and Stich. If my service was great I have tipped a bit on top of that.

Always ask the front desk if you are unsure. Most TS at Disney do not include Tip, but clearly some do. Better safe then sorry since so many of these people work so hard.

That's been my question for a year on the WDW tipping threads!!!!!

I'm not a fan of the way we do it in the States; I'd rather servers get a normal wage and then we all pay more for food, and no more tipping.

But I know that's not the way it is, that servers make almost nothing, etc etc etc....but is that *really* true for Disney servers???

Albort? Are you out there?

(not that I won't tip, I just want to *know*...the job where I got tips did stuff more than a bit sneakily, and we were all paid a proper wage, and they didn't want to know about tips, and didn't take credit cards b/c of that issue...so I know how fun it is to make a proper wage AND get tips:cheer2: )

Generally, the character meals' price inludes the tip. This includes Goofy's, Ariel's, and the buffet portions of Lilo and Stitch's and Chip and Dale's breakfasts. However, I don't think it's pre-included on the menu choice portions of the meals. Just ask at the desk when you check in for your meal, and I'm sure theyll be happy to let you know.

Haven't been to DLR yet, but at WDW the character meals are just like every other table service restaurant, except they happen to have characters wandering around.;) . I did tip at all our character meals at WDW; the same amount that I would for a regular table service meal. Or, I should say, the dining plan tipped them.:rotfl: . (We went before the changes with tipping.)

It sounds like though at DLR most of the character meals already include a tip. I think on allears it tells you when you look at the menus.

We ate at Goofy's Kitchen and Ariel's Grotto this past week, and both had tip & tax included in the bill. :)

Our last trip in Dec I added two Character Dining meals(Goofy's Kitchen and Minnies Plaza) to our vacation package and I was told that the price included the gratuity already. When I made the ressies I asked about that and it was confirmed. The price I paid was $3.00 per person cheaper then the walk-in in price. So I assume that means even if you go to the Character dinning without purchasing the vouchers in advance that tip should be included.

Tax and tip is included in the price of your meal with character meals. When we eat at BB or CO we do leave tips.

When we ate at Goofy's the person that seated us told us as we were seated that the gratuity was included in our prepaid price.
