We'll be staying on site club level. Where are there character meals? Are they included in the hotel cost or extra? How much do they cost and how do you make resrevations, if needed?

I'm going to move this over to the main board for more responses.

We have never booked for the Character meals as they are never busy. You don`t pay any extra for them.

In RPR we have seen Shaggy and Scooby, Simpsons, Fiona and Shrek and this year Woody Woodpecker was there too.

We usually eat in Jake`s Bar not The Islands and they come in there too, the interaction with them is fantastic and well worth going to them in any of the hotels.

Call the hotels directly and get the specifics for the dates you'll be staying. You can go to any of the hotels and enjoy the character meals...we LOVE The Kitchen restaurant at Hard Rock Hotel. The characters are "free" to enjoy, regardless of how many people at your table order food. On select nights you can visit with Shrek, The Simpsons, Scooby and sometimes others. During the Christmas holidays, Santa himself has magically popped in, much to the thrill of our kids!
The staff at The Kitchen is absolutely incredible, so attentive , we hated to leave!
In the park character dining is now available at Universal Studios Cafe La Bamba. Breakfast only right now, and a bit pricey. We just ate there this summer and the food, the service, the characters...everything was very enjoyable. It is just a lot to pay, and it's not a buffet....(I think it was about $60 bucks or so with tax for my son and I). Not sure if we'll do it again, unless the grandkids are with us on the next trip.

Hey Schumirl...was that in July that y'all saw Woody...we've been begging them to bring him back for the past few visits....they told us they were trying to get it figured out.

::yes:: ::yes::

We had been at the parks not dinner, and came in the door between Jakes and Islands. It was nearly 10pm and I spotted Scooby just hanging around so we made straight for him to get a picture with us.

The staff looked kinda smiley then all of a sudden Woody was behind me........I jumped about 10 feet in the air!!! It was funny. The staff said they knew I hadn`t seen him hiding behind a plant.....How could I miss him :confused3 DH and DS had spotted him......but they enjoy seeing me scared for some reason :laughing:

He was cute and we got some good pics and even though I think they were due to leave, they spent ages with us :thumbsup2
