I have looked at all the info on Character meals, but am I seeing that Mickey isn't at any of them?

We are going to do Goofy's I believe, so if we are staying at HOJO, it is best to hit the parks when then open for awhile, then head to Goofy's, is that right? Anyone did supper there or is the brunch the best? Thanks! Love this site, have gotten SO much helpful information for you all!

There is a breakfast with Mickey. It used to be Lelo and Stitch. I think it is now called Surfs Up Mickey or something like that. I think it is in Paradise Pier Hotel.
Wow, I really should have let someone else answer this for you since my whole response says "I think" :lmao:

But simple answer, there is a breakfast with Mickey

Mickey's at the Surf's Up breakfast in Paradise Pier hotel as of last December. That's the only character meal he is appearing at.

Thanks! I guess I saw Surf's Mickey but didn't see any characters listed. Would you recommend that over Goofys? Looks like Goofys gets the best reviews, but if the food is similar, maybe we will hit Mickey, my 2 year old LOVES mikey!

Go to Mickey's, Goofy's Kitchen was a total bust for us, we didn't like the food all that much and the character interaction was extremely lacking for us.

Most of us who love Goofy's on here (myself, Vala, Disneynerd420, Amy&Dan, Spacemermaid, etc.) and give it the rave reviews are the ones who go back there repeatedly, every trip. (I prefer the breakfast over dinner, but that is just my personal taste.) Goofy's Kitchen is really great (in fact, this last experience I had there in December was better than the last few previous ones I had there, and I've loved Goofy's for a looooong time) - huge variety of tasty food, lots of good things to choose from, about 8 characters roaming around. I don't think (though am not sure) that the Surf's Up with Mickey breakfast has the same variety of food, though they may have added some items since it is now all-buffet (no off-the-menu orders anymore). I am sure the food at Surf's Up is delicious, though. It appears that there are some unique items there.

BUT, that said, even though I always recommend Goofy's, I would say that if you really want a meal with Mickey (and who doesn't want one?:rotfl2:), then try the Surf's Up with Mickey meal at the PPH! Why not? Go for it! It's new, so there have not been many reviews from it yet. You can be one of the first! Sadly, no one has really posted much in the way of photos from it on our character meal photo thread yet, but I am hopeful that they will. I definitely want to try the Mickey meal the next time I go to DLR for a full weekend, but I am still going to eat at Goofy's too! We only did a one-day trip to DLR in December and it came down to me to decide - Goofy's or Mickey and Friends... I chose Goofy's, not just because it is my old reliable favorite, but because I knew that the wait at the Surf's Up meal would be crazy without a PS (and apparently it was, from what we heard).

Here is a link to some fantastic food pictures (in several posts) from Goofy's, courtesy of Disneynerd420 - scroll all the way down the page of his TR to see them:

And here is our character meal photo thread, in case you would like to try one of the other character meals:

Whatever you choose, make sure to come back and tell us all about it!!!

^ :rotfl: I am now officially known for my love of Goofy's Kitchen! Which is fine by me, as I've been going there since it was in its old location, and I still ate for kids' prices

OP: Currently, the only Character meal with Mickey is the one at the Paradise Pier Hotel. They've changed the menu since I've last been there, so I can't recommend/or not the food, but if it's anything like it was when it was still the Lilo n Stitch buffet, you shouldn't be disappointed! Unless they've added more buffet tables, the selection will be much smaller than at Goofy's Kitchen, where there are pretty much too many menu items to list. But Goofy's doesn't have Mickey, so if you really really want to dine with him, then the new buffet is the place to do that. If you do, please share a review with those of us who haven't been yet...I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious!

Have fun on your trip!!!

That's right!! I know who my fellow Goofy's fans are! I know who is in the 'pro-Goofy's' camp and who is in the 'anti-Goofy's' camp, and I will call all of you out when necessary!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

However, I do long for the days when I used to pay a lofty $13 for the Goofy's breakfast (same large selection of food), and we balked at the whopping $18 for the dinner!:rotfl::rotfl: Those were the days!!

We had breakfast and dinner at Goofys last month and breakfast at Surfs Up with Mickey last month. The food at both was great, there was a much larger selection of food at Goofy's than Mickey's and we preferred the food at breakfast to dinner, so if we could only pick one it would be breakfast. Character wise, it was a bit hit and miss I have to say at Goofy's. We were comparing our visits to our previous trip 5 years before where we ate at Goofy's about 5 times as there were SO many characters and they were just brilliant. This time there were only a few characters and the odd one would be great (Baloo) but the rest were just, walk up photo and off they would go.

Mickey's breakfast was good. Mickey himself only greets you just inside the door where you have photos with him, he did not rove around the tables when we went. Character interaction was great, Stitch is a classic! The food on the buffet was nice, much smaller selection than Goofys and we just had the omelette and mickey waffles.

So if your little one loves Mickey then surfs up would be good.

Our favourite, due to the best character interaction, good food, was Minnies breakfast at the Plaza in Disneyland Park.

And so am I. Yay for Goofy's fan club!

I've done the Surf's up meal before Mickey was added.

Food wise yeah, the selection was smaller. But quality was almost as good as Goofy's, and if your 2 year old likes Mickey that would seal the deal for me. ;)

Goofy's has more characters than Surf's up. We saw Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, Minnie and Daisy when Surf's Up was still Lilo & Stitch breakfast. From what I heard Lilo is no longer there, and instead Mickey has been added.

At Goofy's we always saw 7 or 8 characters. But Paradise Pier made up for the lack in number because the characters used to come to the table more often.
