Hello All! I'm new to the boards but planning our 5th Disney vacation this September.

As crazy as it is, the only Mickey Character Meal we've done is Garden Grill. We LOVED it, but like to try different places each visit.

I'm wondering what your favorite MICKEY character meal is and why? My girls will be 7 and 3 on the next trip. The 3 year old LOVES Minnie and Mickey, the 7 year old is more in to princesses, but also likes Daisy and Minnie.

ETA: Non Mickey character meals we've done are: Be Our Guest, 1900 Park Fare (breakfast), and Cinderella's Royal Table.

I second Tusker House. It was one of our favorites.

Any chance to see Daisy is a good time in my book!

Have a fun trip and have fun planning :-):-)

Another vote for Tusker. We always do a pre park opening and it's seriously my favorite. Good food and great character interaction. I also like early Chef Mickey breakfasts.

I'm afraid we had a different experience at Tusker House. The characters were just not interested, at all, the morning we went for breakfast. We do 2-3 character breakfasts every year and this was so bad we even complained to the manager on the way out. Maybe they were all having a bad day, but we won't be returning anytime soon, which is a shame as the food was lovely.

We also love Tusker House brft, and try for late time, and then get changeover to lunch as well. We get Safari ride and Pagani Trail in, then brft, then LK show. If you want to see Daisy, the other choice would be H & V lunch or dinner w/Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Daisy, and a pic w/Goofy. They are dressed in seasonal theme - may be in Halloween in Sept, not sure as we only did it at Christmas. Costumes were fabulous and interaction was great, but food just so-so.

We had a similar experience. We were sitting deep in the back of the restaurant and the characters rushed us. Mickey was the worst of the bunch. Luckily DD5 didn't seem to notice.

Food was great, but I wouldn't book it again. We thought the interaction at Hollywood and Vine was much better.

I'm glad we're not the only ones. When lots of posts are waxing lyrical about a meal and you only have negative things to say you feel like a troll, but that was our experience at that restaurant on that day.

Agree that for food, Tusker House hands down, but the character interaction was just ok. For character interaction, I have read that H&V was great and really thought that it was overstated but it was, in fact, amazing when we went. It is very expensive for the food you get but the characters were amazing. I have a review in my dining report linked in my sig.

We thought Hollywood and Vine was great character interaction and we have also had awesome interactions at Tusker House.

'Ohana breakfast. Our other favorite is at Beach Club's Cape May Cafe- Minnie's Beach Bash with Goofy and Donald. They all wear beach outfits and it is one of the less hectic breakfast buffets. The food is excellent-they have a made to order crepe station and some of the best scrambled eggs on WDW property. Also really good orange cranberry bread, fritatta and grits.

Depending on where you're staying might influence your decision for resort breakfasts. We enjoyed cape may Minnie's beach bash breakfast. There's no Mickey though.
We really enjoyed the food and the characters at Hollywood and Vine.
I saw a new report about Trattoria al Frono on Boardwalk was starting a character breakfast with princesses and their princes. It's starting this spring. Trattoria is my all time favorite breakfast. I hope they don't change the menu but I'll probably still try it either way since we usually stay at Beach Club.

We also love Tusker House. My son has requested to go back there on this trip. He said and I quote, "They have the best character interaction ever."

This is coming from a 19 year old who isn't much into characters, but he loved the food here. Loves the characters and he even smiled when he met them.

We've gone to quite a few of the character dining restaurants over the years, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Cape May Cafe breakfast buffet with Minnie, Donald and Goofy at the Beach Club Resort! Granted Mickey isn't there, but the location is so laid back and relaxing, the character interaction was fantastic and they're wearing cute beach attire, and who doesn't love breakfast buffets?! ;-) As for princesses, Akershus is easily the best bang for your buck- it's 1 table service credit, you get a personal meet-and-greet with Belle when you first walk in, it's a combination of buffet and table meal, and there are princesses everywhere in a castle-like atmosphere. Some people don't like the buffet portion as it's mainly Norwegian offerings, but we enjoy trying new foods from different parts of the world and loved it!

Chef Mickey's is our favorite! We've done dinner the past few times but are planning breakfast next trip! The food is good! They have maybe the best dessert bar @ WDW! Enjoy!

Ohana Breakfast at the Poly, IMHO, is one of the best. Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. The breakfast was fantastic. Plus DS and I love Stitch the best! I highly recommend this breakfast.

It's funny. I had the exact opposite experience. We had waited over 1 hr 20 min for Daisy and Donald to come to our side of the restaurant. Daisy came over, the girls got so excited and she walked right past them to the next table. They called, "Daisy!"

And she turned around and shushed them. I'm sorry my 8, 5 & 4 year old had been waiting so long to see you and you blew right past us like we weren't even there. If they hadn't called Daisy, I'm convinced she would've skipped our table altogether. She and Donald posed for one pic each and scurried along.
