We want to do the Askerhus breakfast for the princesses and Crystal Palace breakfast to get in before the park opens (and to see Pooh). So there are two breakfasts. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge one night with no park time those days (offsite the rest of the time). So I thought that we would go have a meal at Chef Mickey's so we could take the boat to the Contemporary and maybe ride around the monorail. I've heard that breakfast is much better than dinner there. But, I thought about going to Tusker House for breakfast one morning. If we do that, it would be four breakfasts, which DS and I love, but DD and DH don't. Would you:

a - Go to Chef Mickey's dinner and Tusker House breakfast
b - Go to CM breakfast and TH breakfast
c - Skip CM and go to TH breakfast
d - Skip both

Obviously, we're paying OOP and I don't really have a problem with that. What I'm concerned about is eating breakfast that many times.

I would skip CM and keep TH since we don't like the food at CM and just general, we didn't like what we exprienced CM. We also have TH, CM breakfast before the park opening set up for coming trip. Only thing we don't have is Akerhaus since DS would not be happy with it.:laughing:

On a typical 8 night trip, we usually end up with about 6 character breakfasts. Therefor I say do both CM and TH (we have done both on the same trip a couple of times). If you were looking to add a 5th breakfast I would go with 1900 PF. Then again I am a big fan of breakfast foods. I also wouldn't worry too much about eating a lot of breakfasts. We find that a big breakfast, a mid-day snack and a decent dinner is more than enough food for a day. :thumbsup2

Is it that DH and DD don't like big breakfasts or they don't like character breakfasts?

If they like the characters but don't like the big breakfasts then do CM for dinner and skip TH. My DH loves big breakfasts but the rest of us want small breakfasts then big early lunches. We do maybe 2 breakfasts max as a compromise. Everybody's happy.

An option that all of us can agree to is a last breakfast seating at character meals. Everybody can get breakfast foods but generally we can also get some lunch foods towards the end of the meal as they're getting the lunch buffet ready. We eat a light breakfast in the room before heading to the park and then have brunch at breakfast prices. It's wonderful! One more bonus to this is that character interaction is fabulous because people are leaving the restaurant while you're eating but they're not loading in more people yet because there's around a brief break in ADRs to give the staff time to switch over from breakfast to lunch so there aren't nearly as many people and the characters take a lot of time with you. It really is wonderful, even to people like me who aren't so fond of character breakfasts.

I vote for TH breakfast! The food is way better (CM's has the worst quality and level of cleanliness out of any WDW buffet, IMO), atmosphere is great, & characters there are so much fun in their safari outfits!

I would do Chef Mickeys for dinner. We have always had a good experience here. The food has been good and it has been clean.

I didnt like Chef Mickeys breakfast. Quality and selection of food wasnt very good. I will say that the fab 5 characters are pretty amazing. We did have a great time here. I think everyone should go once and form their own opinion. Like I said, the characters are pretty great. Donald Duck is a riot!!

I LOVE Tusker House breakfast! Definitely do that one! Food is awesome, best selection i've seen yet. Loved the characters, Daisy is a riot!! And its nice being one of the first on kilominjaro safari ride (if you time your ressie right!).

If you really wanna do Akershus, Tusker, and CP for breakfast, I would do that and just do CM for dinner (if you really wanna see the fab 5). I wouldnt say your experience at CM would be any better at breakfast than at dinner. The best part about that place is the characters. Since there at both bf & dinner, it would make more sense for you to go to dinner. On the other hand, if your kids dont care to see the fab 5, then skip it altogether. I would ask them. :)

My DH & I aren't breakfast people either & on our last trip we made the mistake of booking too many breakfast times. We did CP & TH before the park opened & those are so worth it. Did Kona which we would never do again & canceled our last ones..including CM as we decided we'd rather either sleep in or do rope drop instead of looking at food again that early in the morning.

I agree with another poster, try changing Akershus for lunch or dinner if possible. the food is good.

I would pick Tusker breakfast anytime before Chef Mickey.

Well, if its characters you want, both are great! You can get into Animal Kingdom early with a breakfast at Tusker House too. Mickey isn't there though. I have never done Chef Mickey's for dinner but I agree that the characters are worth it. If it's the time, you can make some for closer to lunch time. We did that once at Chef Mickeys and got extra time with the characters because they are closed for lunch. I would do both because I love the character meals. Enjoy whatever you decide!

Tusker House and Chef Mickey have basically the same characters. I did both on our last trip, and I would not do both again (basically, I won't do Chef Mickey's again-not that bad, just better places to see Mickey)

Chef Mickey dinner was not great and Tusker House breakfast was rather good, IMHO.

If two in your party don't like breakfast...do Tusker House more as a brunch...this also saves money...have a snack for breakfast...hit park at rope drop, ride a few things, grab a fastpass for everest or something, eat "brunch"....then you pay the breakfast price AND you don't really need lunch b/c you will be full.

Do they not like breakfast foods? I remember carved ham, tater tots, "desserts" (turovers, bread pudding, donuts) on the breakfast buffet at Tusker House

Mickey is at TH for breakfast. You will see Mickey, Daisy, and Goofy during the meal. Donald is only available for pictures as you enter and will not sign autographs.

We LOVED our breakfast there last May. It is on our list to do again in May 2012. DS loved the ham and juice. Said it was the best he had ever had!

After thinking about it some more, when we stay at WL we're going to have to eat breakfast somewhere so it may as well be Chef Mickey's. So we'll have to wait to see about Tusker House. I think we may as well do that breakfast too so we can get in before the park opens.

As for Akershus, I'm really not sure about lunch or dinner. Those menus do not sound all that appealing but we'll see. I'll see if I can find some pics of the buffet.

Thanks for your help!
