My wife and I are going to Disney World in a few months. She would like to go to a character breakfast. We are staying at the Grand Floridian. I wanted to know what place would be the best: Norway, Grand Floridian or Ohana?
Which one is less crowded? Which has the better breakfast food? What characters should I expect at the three? Etc.

Tell me what character breakfast you would go to w/o kids? Thanks! :)

1900 Pare Fare has the best food. It also seem to be a little less chaotic.

I would do either 1900 Park Fare (breakfast and dinner have characters) or Ohana for breakfast.

Ohana - "family style" food is brought to the table on a platter. They have fresh fruit, breads, Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, potatoes (wedges), bacon and sausage. Characters - Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Very very fun. I choose this for my birthday breakfast this year (along with DD) and we had a wonderful time. I loved the atmosphere, the characters and the service.

1900 Park Fare - breakfast. This has been our all time favorite (it was also my DD birthday breakfast with some friends). Buffet with a very good selection - omelet station, and lots of other breakfast selections - including yummy chilled strawberry soup! Characters - Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter (Very funny), Mary Poppins (she was meeting and greeting in the lobby area), Pooh and Eeyore (the Pooh characters generally rotate here, but the others are regular for the most part). We had a late sitting for breakfast, and although it was busy, I did not find it overly crazy. By the end of breakfast (I had gotten DD a birthday cake - by this time it was noon) - we had most of the restaurant to ourselves.

These are my two favorites - way over Norway which we have done this year as well (DD and I have done 8 character meals since Jan 22!)

The fact that Poly is also on the monorail is great for you too!

Norway is also family style, the food brought to the table on a platter. Eggs, waffles, potatoes, sausage and bacon. Also bread basket. The characters are all "princesses" that rotate appearances -we saw Belle in the lobby, Snow White, Princess Aurora, Princess Jasmine and Mary Poppins (in her white dress, at 1900 Park Fare we saw her in her Nanny coat, with umbrella!) This breakfast, I did find to be very noisy and I felt very cramped at the table where we were seated. This above almost all other character breakfasts was the one I felt the least "relaxed" after - this was also our first. We did not have a great server other, so that could be swaying my opinion. But I think the noise level is pretty normal, as this is the only breakfast to see Princesses without going to the castle.

Where are you from in PA? DD and I lived outside of Philly (Lansdale/Hatfield) before moving to Orlando 3 years ago. We are also great fans of the people mover! We always go around at least twice. It's where we sit and talk about the day so far, and what our plans are next!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask, and I will help if I can.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, I think 1900 Park Faire is the best food, plus, I prefer a buffet to family style. Cuz...if I want 27 pieces of bacon, I want 27 pieces of bacon, darn it! I don't want to wait for the food to be brought out a little at a time (I am really not this much of a pig IRL, just on vacation! :teeth: )

I do want to suggest my favorite character breakfast...Chef Mickey's! To me, that is the breakfast that just screams "YOU ARE AT DISNEY WORLD!"

The food is good and the atmosphere cannot be beat. It would be just a short monorail ride from your hotel too (Contemporary.)

Good luck...I am sure you will have fun no matter what you decide!

The choice of a character meal for me comes down to which characters .

Chef mickey's is one of the favorites, as is Princess breakfast in Akershus, but then our litttle pricesses influence that choice.

My two fav Character meals we (BF and I) do each trip are Park Fare and Chef Mickey's. Park Fare has great food-mmmstrawberry soup and Chef Mickey's has good food and a great selection of characters (Mickey, minnie, goofy, pluto, chip and dale)-Not all are guaranteed but mostly there!
