We are a very picky family but I would love to do a character meal! I would love one that has a buffet with lots of options to choose from! What one is the best to do for lunch!

I would have a difficult time choosing. I would choose between Goofy's Kitchen, and Storytellers.:tink:

When I looked at the Storytellers it doesn't appear to be buffet style according to the menu! Am I wrong on this?

They have amazing corn chowder, ceaser salad, salad, prime rib, chicken, raviolis, great chicken nuggets, fab desserts. It is really good. Well worth the price. We go every time and will be there next week. the characters are Chip and Dale, Brother Bear, etc.

Does anyone know what storytellers buffet is like? What characters are there at lunch time?

Storytellers is only a character meal for breakfast.

If you want to do a lunch buffet the only option would be Goofy's, and that's more brunch style.

The Storytellers character breakfast buffet is probably served until noon-ish or so. It does not have many selections, however. The menu offerings are almost as much $$$ as the buffet, so the buffet is more worthwhile, but, again, it does not have a lot to choose from in comparison to Goofy's Kitchen. Storytellers does serve a non-character lunch (no buffet - menu orders only) and a non-character dinner (they sometimes do a buffet for dinner, during busy times of the year and weekends, but the dinner buffet is not year-round).

Goofy's Kitchen at the DLH serves a character breakfast, which turns into a character brunch. Some days they close at 2 p.m. Other days I think they close at 1:00 p.m. or maybe even slightly earlier. The Goofy's buffet has a very, very large variety of food to choose from, unlike Storytellers or the new Surf's Up with Mickey.

Check out posts #338 and #339 from Disneynerd420's TR (link below), and you will find fantastic, all-encompassing photos of the Goofy's Kitchen buffet, taken this past Fall.

Storyteller's has the buffet in peak season, in off season it's not up. BUT Storyteller's only has characters for bfast, not for lunch or dinner. The only character meals that have lunch or dinner are Goofy's Kitchen (which is buffet but my family won't go back) or Ariel's Grotto (which is a sit down meal, no buffet).

We've been to Goofy's Kitchen twice and loved it! We also really liked Ariel's Grotto, but that was sit-down, not a buffet. I would highly recommend Goofy's Kitchen. :goodvibes

We did GK for breakfast and loved it. There were 7 characters there and we hit it when it open at 0700.

That is the best food porn I've ever seen!!! And it's completely changed my mind on where to take my daughter for her birthday. Thanks!!

You're welcome!! Spacemermaid was saying yesterday that we should give some sort of award to Disneynerd420 (James) for taking such comprehensive and fantastic photos of the Goofy's buffet!!:thumbsup2 She's right! And it really helps to have those photos to refer to because, otherwise, people may tend to think that the Goofy's buffet is the same size as Storytellers buffet or the Surf's Up with Mickey buffet, and they don't realize it is much larger with more variety (great food too!:thumbsup2) - and in some cases, people may want the larger variety of items from which to choose!

So a big kudos to Disneynerd420:worship::worship::worship: for the awesome Goofy's Kitchen buffet shots!!
