Character Interactions from an adult Solo's perspective.

While at Chef Mickeys Goofy pointed at my ring finger, then he looked at my boyfriend and shook his head and then goofy got down on one knee and took my hand and gestured to kiss my hand. IT WAS EPIC! The look only boyfriends face was priceless. I was glad the the characters tailor their actions to the adults as well.

Goofy has way more game than I, that is awesome haha! OP Awesome review! If your trip report is anything like this I am sure it will get a ton of interest. Sadly I am slacking on mine as well (It's like the post-Disney hangover or something).

Seeing Merida is my favorite! She is a HOOT! I could talk and joke with the girl for hours. I got some great pictures too. She didn't even mention me being alone.

Wasn't a fan of tink. Kept making comments about me "flying solo" and asking why.

Chip and dale were HILARIOUS! They were fighting for my affection and playing tug of war with my arms.

Those are all who I saw alone last trip.

Haha, that's a riot! Yeah on my last trip in 2009 I had a funny experience with Donald in Frontierland, who became very animated (no pun intended) when he saw my Donald Duck pin on my shirt. And since he was dressed like Davy Crockett I told him 'remember the Alamo' and he got a kick out of that. I'm hoping to start my trip report this weekend or at least stubbing it out whilst the facts are still fresh in the ol' melon.

Y'know, I had the opportunity to get in line to see Merida's show (it was very busy most days we were there) but since it was early in my trip and I was still gunshy about seeing characters. And of course after my Akershus experience her shows had closed for the day. She's on my list for my next trip.
I had a nice experience with the chipmunks at Chef Mickeys way back in 2005 and it was nice, too.

Glad to hear that my experiences weren't isolated incidents. Thanks for sharing!

They are certainly much better than they were 5 years ago on my first solo trip. I did Ohana and had all the characters walk past me until I had a word with my server and all, but, Stitch came back, while at Epcot Belle was clearly creeped out by me on my own and it showed in the photo, I also caught her whispering something to Beast as I had my photopass card scanned. After Ohana I never had the courage to do a character meal until the Star Wars Dinner this last trip and I'm glad I did as I had a wonderful time. Now it's time to let the families know that solo adults can have wonderful character interactions as much as their little 'darlings' can. I'm now going to work out how to put my photos up.

I was not alone but obviously an adult and I cried after meeting Princess Aurora at Epcot. She was totally in character and it made my holiday xx

Wow...I'm sorry your experiences were like that. That's odd because when I went to Akershus in my January 2009 trip I had nothing but nice interactions with them. Of course I was in a suit because I was attending a conference too, so they might have figured I was from corporate, still. I'm glad your SW experience was so good.

That's so sweet :thumbsup2

Sounds like my interactions with Ariel at her grotto, she totally made my evening.
Thanks for sharing!

They were the only two not so great ones. Goofy and Tigger are always wonderful, but, the best was Carl Frederickson, the child in front would not leave after he had his photo taken and while Dug and Russell made a fuss of him to persuade him to go Carl came over grabbed me and we had a lovely waltz, the PP photographer was on the ball and I had some wonderful (if blushing)photos of that, I was on Cloud 9 for ages afterwards. I was also lucky at the SW dinner as I had one of the latest reservations that I got all the guys in a group photo with me, times have changed luckily. Another great one was catching the Princes with the Princesses, my daughter and I posed with them all, but, Prince Philip is my favourite all time Prince and I asked for a photo of just him and I (my daughter nearly died of embarrassment at her old Mum) he was perfect xx

Never had an issue dining alone but have always been hesitant to book the character meals. Even though I love Askershus. You have inspired me and now I have 2 character meals booked for my next solo trip. Thank you for sharing!

It's so funny how touching those can be. During my first marathon, this January, I stopped in France in World Showcase for a quick picture with Princess Aurora. She said "You're doing great. Just about a mile left, Prince!" And it really helped me get to the end!

That's so cool! It is funny how us erstwhile normally adjusted adults can be so touched by something like that.
Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

I think the pics were odd for a grown man but won't judge.

BTW. Is that a Bell@Ross?

This was a wonderful thread. What happened?

There was no need to remove any of the pics or the original post. I thought the pictures were terrific and the story delightful. No one was offended.

It was an innocent humorous observation about the Ariel pic. I mean, you said yourself, I think, that there was some cute flirting going on between you and her or some of the other characters. I mean, we are all human here. And we are all adults. Just because we love all things Disney doesn't mean we only think in a G-rated way, and there's a great span between g-rated and being "perverse" or in the "gutter". And this was well withing that span and not violating anything.

This was just some fun being had, no worse than anything you see on the Tonight Show or whatever.

This was actually my favorite thread, to tell you the truth. What a shame.

I agree with RealBlast3, I really enjoyed this thread. I thought your post was fun and informative for any person looking to do a solo adult character experience.

There was no need to remove any of the content mate. I hope you'll consider putting your post back up and ignoring any hecklers. :)
