Just come back from DLP and it blew me away at how much interaction the characters have with each and every person compared to WDW.

Dont get me wrong I am a WDW vet and the characters are always great with people but the interaction in DLP was amazing.

The only downside is that you have to wait triple the time to meet them.

I wonder if it because of the recent Paris attacks they have upped their game and pleased people are visiting?
What i did notice that there no hurry in France when it comes to meet and greet.
Personally i just want a 30 sec meet, say hello, hug, pic then i am gone.

Had to wait 45 min to meet Christmas Mickey and Minnie at 8.15 yesterday morning. Never done that in America.

Pro and cons with everything.

The characters at the parks in Japan also seemed more interactive...but we always visit those parks on the slowest days of the year so maybe that plays a part. The characters "wander" a lot more in Japan too...and they don't allow you to form lines - which is so weird since the Japanese are pros at queuing. Again, not so bad on the slow days we visit, but I can't imagine what it's like on a normal or busy day! Luckily the Japanese are extremely polite so maybe it works just fine? Definitely different.

We found Brer Fox and Brer Bear running around Critter Country. Brer Fox loved how tall my husband was and ran around to get Brer Bear to come over and see the guy who was as big as him. It was all very cute and lasted a good 5 minutes. Everybody around enjoyed watching too.

I visited DLP in 2012 and they had some great characters but it was such a free for all! There was no way to get pics without some stranger jumping in. It was so different from WDW as far as personal space and lines go... I did not enjoy that aspect!

We also visited DLP in 2012. The mob scene and crowding around characters was most interesting and the characters didn't appear to mind. We didn't care about meeting them so we just hung back to snap photos and take in the scenes.

@sunshine1: it's typical character interaction at DLP. Immediately following the events in Paris and while the parks were shutdown, entertainment CMs chose to go into work and provided "character enhancement" at all the DLP resort hotels. The CMs wanted to make the guests' stay as magical as possible under the circumstances.

I know it isnt very nice is it.

When characters are roaming instead of sets I'm sure they have far less restrictions on timing than those who have queues and lines set up. There's very particular timing they need to follow in wdw. Personally I almost like it better in WDW, DLR was difficult to get any sort of picture or interaction with roaming characters
