Just wondering if the parades are pretty much just a "sit and watch" type of parade, or do the characters walking alongside actually interact with the audience?

I'm wondering how important it is to be 'front row' so to speak. If it is just for watching, then anywhere with a good view would be fine, but if there is audience participation, of sorts, then closest to the front might be best!

Thanks!!

No they definitely interact. In December, we had both Aladdin and Jasmine talk to our girls and one of the wicked stepsisters come right over to my youngest daughter and complain to her that the picture of Cinderella on her shirt should be her instead. My daughter loved it, and was really a neat moment. Of course we have been to many parades where there has been no interaction with our children. But they do interact.

There is interaction. Lots of waves and "hi there" type of stuff. One of the fairy godmothers came up to my daughter and told her she "loved her hairdo" (she had it done at Club Libby Lu that day)....made my daughter feel very special. One of the tall flower guys also got a kick out of it when my biker-looking hubby was clapping along to the music...so he came over and made a bit deal of it...clapping along with him and laughing. Really cute!

Here is a pic of some interaction with my niece. She was on cloud 9 the rest of the day.

In December we sat right in the front during the Christmas parade and a lot of the extra dancers came up to us and waved, a lot of them wished my DBF a Happy Birthday because of his birthday button.. I'm sure if we were young kids, they would have interacted more? But it was fun!

There is alot of interaction. We love to get everyones attention in the parade especially during the Electric Light Parade. We heckle the stepsisters alot. I don't think you have to be up front to get interaction. You may need a big mouth to get their attention though. :thumbsup2

I think it depends on the age of the people viewing the parade. I had front row seats, sitting w/ teeanage son and DH, and they mostly all but ignored us. However, they really did play up to the small children who were near us.
