I know I have read this before but I can't seem to find it.

If we are loooking for a particular character when at the park, who do we ask? One of the character handlers?

I was told you can go to Town Hall and ask them.

I belive you can ask them to call from any shop.

Any merchandise location or guest relations can locate a character for you. You could also ask a character assistant, but the merchandise locations will be able to call for you.

(407) 824-2222

this number puts you into the WDW operator directly with no mashing buttons to get to a department that has no clue anyway.

At this number you can ask any question, and either they have the answer or can find it quickly.

:worship: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I leave tomorrow morning and have been wanting a number to bypass the system for a year now. I won't go into details why, but I wasn't real happy last year, trying to get ahold of the right people. I'll program this into the cell right now, just in case.

Try checking out Steve Soares website

http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

Click on the park you want at the top of the page and it will take to the character meet and greets and show times. He updates it weekly so everybody be sure to check right before you leave.

***Just went back and realized that you probably wanted this info while you are in the park. So sorry I didn't answer your question correctly. However, I hope this website helps anyways in everybody's planning.

for some reason, i can never remember the switchboard number.. i go by 407-WDW-INFO and i have used it to find out about character appearances that day.

any CM by a phone should be able to contact the CHiP line though.

All info helps! I have used that site before. It is great for planning purposes.

1) You can find out from any
. . . resort Concierge counter
. . . resort Front Desk
. . . Guest Service location
. . . most retail stores
2) Ask the CM to call the C.H.I.P.S. Hotline.
3) They will tell you the exact spot for any character.
4) Caveats
. . . you must name the character
. . . they won't rattle off a whole list of characters
. . . call after 9:30am (after absenteeism is known)

Do you have to ask specific park when you call the hotline number? Or can I ask if a certain character will be out today at any of the parks?

Have a CM at one of the shops call the Chips line. (Although they called it the Chip and Dale line when we were there.)

We did this on our first trip and asked to find Cinderella. They were able to tell us exactly where she was and my DD got to see her hero.

it's actually really CHiP.. stands for Character Hotline and Information Program. it's a bit of a stretch, but someone tried at least :)

I will say that few times I've used it, the info I received wasn't 100% correct. I have asked mutiple times where I could find rabbit from Winnie the Pooh movies and was told he was/would be in certain location and upon arrival he wasn't and had not been entire day.
Another time I went to City hall in MK to inquire on 3 amingos appearing in Mexico and was told all 3 would be out in 15 min so I hightailed it over to Mexico and waited only to find Only Donald not 2 I really wanted/needed.

Also in case of WS they can't tell you who's out until after 12:00p.
