character filled trip report of firsts!! Day two

Day two

I set the alarm for 7am, as we had gmf breakfast for 9.45am I knew it was just the task of getting the boys up and out……. We were at the bus stop for 7.45am and I thought we had failed on the getting there before the park opened….. but NO!!!!!! queue of ppl, so I thought id look and see if I could see hildasmuriel anywhere….. and spotted!!!

So got the chance to meet up and also see Smallworld, where her dh gave some good tips on buzz which I couldn’t wait to try out!!! As we were talking we didn’t get an empty main street, but a nice shot of the castle with a blue sky – lovely!!!

We split up as hildasmuriel headed off to do buzz first, and smallworlds family and us walked into fantasyland….. we then headed for dumbo and they went to peterpan….

Followed up dumbo with teacups, and then onto the carousel,

where hildasmuriels dd informed us that a queue was growing at buzz due to sm being shut – so we made that our next ride – snow white & pinnochio were both shut in emh
Did buzz – but still not much better on the score – but a def improvement!!! Went off then for breakfast, as after coming out managed to get onto pinnochio as they were just opening it up!!!

Did the usual sword pictures – fin really put sum effort into it and then thought wed hang around for the sleeping beauty show.

Was lovely, but they never stopped after for autographs so fin was a bit disappointed on that – not sure if that’s changed, or a one off, as before they would autograph?!?!

Decided to get some more autographs, so, seeing at it was caydens easy pass – the next one had to be his choice – cue winnie the pooh!! The boys got to ‘help’ winnie up the steps after his quick rest (change) and lovely that, and got a few hugs, and pictures – cayden very happy!!

A leisurely wander thru the shops and we get to the end to watch mary poppins, whilst I do sum buying!!! And then we just happened to be in the right area for mary & bert heading to do autographs (outside city hall) and after getting totally crushed and cay getting a bit panicked – they got picture & autograph, and, seein as mickey was still out – we thought we head there next.

Mistake. This was the worst meet we have had, when it was out turn the boys ran to hug mickey who just took the autograph book off fin, signed and just stood. I had to coax Cayden back, and got a couple of pics, then the official photographer took one, and straight away mickey turned away and looked to the next person…. The boys were waiting to wave goodbye, but he didn’t even acknowledge them. Fin was a bit upset, but I quickly distracted him by saying let try another meet….

We went and had another go on btm (love this ride!!) and then phantom manor again (this time getting inside the house and walking thru – def worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) before going over to woodys roundup meet and there was a massive queue. Was debating on using the easy pass, or just leaving it, when the characters came out….. decision made as cay was jumpin up n down shouting mi mou (Minnie) and so we showed the card and were taken straight in – first room Pluto & goofy – cay runs straight to Pluto, who dropped to his knees and gave him a huge hug – bloomin camera refused to focused and I missed it!!!!

Got sum good pics, and on to next room – mickey & Minnie, who I swear were getting frisky!!! Again, cay ran straight to Minnie and gave her a hug, then kissed her nose – got that shot!!!

Both were lovely, pointing to the boys tshirts (worn especially but wasted on previous mickey) and spend time hugging the boys (yes, I did well up!) and then outside where they met woody & Jessie (not as bothered to meet them as were in mickey n Minnie heaven lol).

Had a lovely chat to the cm outside who turned out to be best mates with the cm who had been with belle the day before, and she advised me to complain about mickey to city hall.
Left woodys roundup and saw that the paddle steamer was coming and thought…. Y not, another first – so had a nice trip around the lake and got sum good pictures!!

Got another couple of shots of the castle and then saw a bit of mickeys party time – not overly impressed – just find mickeys French voice too high lol and then it was party train time!!!

This time – eeyore was on it, Cays last winnie pooh character that he wanted to meet, so we got in position ready to follow him………… and no one else did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So cay got a cuddle with eeyore, before ppl realised he had no one but us there, and then managed to get a couple of pictures – but no autograph – apparently eeyore doesn’t sign?!?!?! Then managed to get to daisy duck – she had a very authoritive cm who was the best ive seen at managing pushing ppl!!!! U wouldn’t mess with her on a dark night lol

Then decided that we would try for the parade in a diff spot – so went to the disabled section outside the castle. It was ok, except we were shoved out of the way for an elderly lady in a chair – ok, I know they get a bit more priority – but there was plenty of space and no one else was told to move – a down side of having a child with an invisible disability I guess. Had a nice chat with another English family which helped pass the waiting time, and enjoyed the parade – we were at the point of stop for toy story – so got to see woody & Jessie dancing!!!

Then we also go the princess stop!!!
Headed off to buzz after this – where I got what I thought would be my highest score!!!! Had to take a pic with my mobile before it disappeared and instantly texted it to dh lol

Off to bella notte for tea and then thought wed walk back thru discoveryland to the hotel, but found ourselves behind stitchs spacecraft so thought – y not watch the show!!! We did, and it wasn’t too bad – the kids seemed to enjoy it, and at least we can say we saw it lol

Then – back to the hotel we went ready to see if we could make it 2 days for getting to the park opening……..

It was good to meet up with you Nikki but a shame it was only briefly as it was our last day. Its strange reading your report of this day knowing that we were there with you in the morning walking down Main Street together but by the time you were watching the parade I was back home with a cup of tea and my washing on.

Amazing pictures again Nikki.

Tbh we have never bothered with the Mickey Meet n Greet on Main Street, I've heard too many story very similar to yours. I much prefer the ones in the Studios, much nicer Mickey's and thats where I got the Mickey pictures in my signature.

In March (haven't done my TR yet, naughty me) there was the exact same set up at Woody'd Roundup, I thought this was awesome and a really good use of the area for some quality meet n greet's. I hope it's there next week as I really want a picture of Macklyn with Mickey Mouse.
