Character Experience Question from a DCL Newbie...

OK DIS Board crew, y'all have been great with providing invaluable information as we get ready for our first cruise on the Fantasy in November (Eastern Caribbean). One more question.... How and/or when do we find out what character meet and greet, along with character dining experiences will be offered while on the cruise? Does that come on embarkation day via the navigator? When the online booking portal opens up? Clearly, I like to plan for this stuff...

A new system of booking character breakfasts and a few character meet and greets is now available at your booking window via " on board fun".

Log in at your booking window, I assume 75 days pre cruise and you will see it.

I would suggest you" Google" recent navigators for your cruise, - many sites and trip reports gave these, and see what us listed for your cruise, where you are, the ship, and length of the cruise.

All character interactions will be listed in the daily navigator, and also on stateroom TV, and also on TV screens in the atrium.

Only a couple are pre bookable, most are turn up and queue.

Sometimes the characters do unscheduled walkabouts on the ship you maybe lucky, and they visit kids clubs, shows, and occasionally meals.

There is a phone number for stateroom phone that also can be called for character meet and greets.

I would suggest joining a cruise meets group for your cruise, those cruisers can guide you, and they can tell you what's on offer when they book earlier from 120 days pre cruise.

There are tons of opportunities. They are all listed in the navigator. As Disney Fantasy said, there are only a few that you need tickets for (the princess gathering and Frozen which are now available to reserve on-line others have stated).
You will get the navigator the night before in your stateroom so you will have plenty of time to plan out your next day.
As for character dining, others have now stated that is bookable online when you check in.

To add to that, make sure you download the Navigator App before you leave. You can use that and search character meets by name. For instance, if you want to see Goofy, you will be able to look up his name and it will list all of the available options for him. You can favorite them and your phone will remind you that they are happening. This also holds true for other activities like shows, the diaper dash, movies, etc. If it's listed in the Navigator, it will almost certainly be in the app. If other people in your party also have the app, you can use it to text each other.

All of this is without using any charged wifi.
