On our first trip this past March, we went to Cindy's breakfast in the castle. This time, we're looking for two character meals. One geared for DD4 and one for DS2. For DD, we were thinking of doing the Princess Dinner at Epcot - any thoughts or alternative ideas would be appreciated. Also, for DS we're at a bit of a loss. He loves Pooh and company, so we could do the buffet dinner at the restaurant right at the end of main street (can't remember the name)... He also LOVES Goofy (maybe reminds him of dad), and is now way into Cars characters - any suggestions???

Goofy does breakfast at Cape May Cafe (with Chip n Dale, Pluto and Minnie) at The Beach Club Resort, he also turns up for breakfast at the Animal Kingdom's Breakfastasaurus. However for a dinner option Goofy is usually out and about at Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary Hotel, my DS loves taking the monorail, so it being a short hop from MK on the monorail is a big plus.

I've only ever done breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends, but I love it. I have heard some good things about lunch and dinner too. Also at MK you have Liberty Tree Tavern, which does lunch and dinner, and of course Goofy!

If you don't mind leaving the park to go to a hotel, I would recommend Chef Mickey's, you get a whole bunch of characters Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto and (sometimes) Donald. Goofy is usually in the foyer, rather than coming to your table, but you can still get some great Goofy moments.

The buffet is Crystal Palace (we're doing that one, too ~ can't wait!). Since you have a Goofy fan, you might want to try the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe ( http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_cm.htm )

I don't know if your kids are into Lilo & Stitch but we are also doing the 'Ohana breakfast to see them (and Mickey and Pluto are there as well).

Also since you have little ones, I read that there is now a breakfast & lunch at MGM that has characters from Playhouse Disney.

Good luck!! :thumbsup2

OOPS...ReggieB was quicker, LOL

Akerhaus has a character breakfast (family style) and dinner. We have done the breakfast which we enjoyed. I am not sure of the dinner menu, but I think it is a little Scandanavian, and might not be to everyone's taste - we have not been for dinner. I could be wrong, but you might want to check out www.allearsnet.com for the menu to be sure!

There is also 1900 Park Fare - breakfast and dinner buffets - breakfast has Mary Poppins - generally in the lobby, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, and two Pooh characters. We did this for DD9 birthday party this year, and it was the BEST TIME - my favorite of all the character meals we have done this year (we have done almost all of them now) - Dinner had Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (the mice) and Fairy Godmother in the lobby! We totally enjoyed this as well. The buffet choices at both meals was :thumbsup2 .

Chef Mickey is a great choice to for the classic characters - we have not done dinner, but enoyed the breakfast.

We have done Crystal Palace for both breakfast and dinner (both buffet) and although DD has not been "into" Pooh since she was 3, we both enjoyed the character interaction with silly Tigger, lovable Eeyore, Piglet (they compared pink feet - DD has pink Crocs) and of course Pooh. The food is very good, and they have a wonderful variety.

We also liked Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club- it's calmer and quieter than some - with the nice beach theme, and Goofy, Minnie and Chip & Dale in their vacation/beachwear.

Just a few of our favs!

I would recommend Pooh & Gang at Crystal Palace. Great food, great atmosphere and the characters there just seem more cuddly for your DS2. For Goofy, I'd suggest Chef Mickey's. Great fun, lots of napkin swingin', music, dancing, etc.--and you get to see Mickey & Minnie as well! (Goofy doesn't circulate, but is out front for meet & greet.) Have fun!

:tink:

For Goofy, there is Liberty Tree Tavern- MK. Usually has Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. Good food there too.

Chef Mickey's is a lot of fun. That is over at the Contemporary.

There is now a new character meal at MGM. It has JoJo's Circus and Little Einstein characters.

And the Crystal Palace at MK with the Pooh characters is great too.

Try the Garden Grill for dinner - the restaurant "revolves", which is really cool, and Chip, Pluto, Mickey and of course Goofy come around - DD loved it when Goofy sat down with her in the booth and pretended to eat her food - it was hysterical to watch them together, and at this one, the characters really spent some time with everyone. She liked Crystal Palace, but it was kind of rushed with the characters. LTT was nice, and she got to meet Minnie there as well! She is a Princess "princess" so we did CRT twice that trip. I've heard mixed reviews on the Norway meals...not sure if we'll try it or not!

My boys (7 and 4) love Liberty Tree for dinner. They get most of the classic characters and food they like family style. Plus it's a little more themed than some of the others. Can't beat the location either!

We love Chef Mickey's for the "classic" characters. Goofy circulated while we were there because we have many pics of him at our table. Donald Duck was the one outside near the hostess. Maybe they alternate? :confused3

Crystal Palace was another fave of ours. Dh LOVED the food, and ds was really into those characters at that time. We plan on going back again this time too.

As for cars, I've heard they are at MGM. I hope it's not just a promo for the movie and they will still be there in November!

Thanks to all for the advice... We're really slanting towards dinner 'cause if I'm going to drop a hunk of cash on a meal out, I'd rather it be dinner than breakfast. Kids are good with bagels / cereal for breakfast, so we'll do that and do two (or three or four) character dinners...

Thanks again!
