Character Dining

We're debating between Storytellers cafe and PCH grill for breakfast and so far the only deciding factor is the characters we will see.

Isn't that the Mickey breakfast? So I would think you'd see Mickey. Do a quick search. The characters are stagnant.

Mickey is always there - for his Surf's Up breakfast - we have done it three times. We have also seen Minnie (odd I know as she is supposed to be at her own breakfast :confused3) Daisy, Pluto, Stitch and Goofy's nephew Max I think is his name.

We really enjoyed this breakfast as the kids get up and dance with Mickey and all the characters spend a great amount of time at the table interacting with the families.

Storytellers has more obscure characters, e.g. Meeko, Brother Bear, as well as Chip and Dale, to go with the forest theme. We've enjoyed Storytellers because it was more low key, but for a higher energy vibe, we really like Surf's Up.

It says characters subject to change, I didn't see where it said anything about what characters we'd see.

Everything is "subject to change" to give Disney an out. BUT reports are that the same characters are usually at the meals every day, except Minnie's breakfast, which still has a somewhat random selection. The characters mentioned by Sherilane sound like the ones I've seen mentioned before.

Anyone know which one would be best for dinner? PCH or Goofy? This is our 2nd trip and 1st character meal. We are also doing Minnie's for breakfast, but I wanted to do a dinner the first night we get in.

My understanding is that PCH is typically not a character dinner - except for the next few weeks when Goofy's is closed.

PCH is better than Minnies for breakfast?
I just looked online under character dining and it listed both PCH and Goofy's for dinner. We are going in April. I'm clueless so please let me know if i'm wrong. We went 2 years ago on the CHEAP so didn't do anything extra. I wanted to surprise my kids with some special extras this time. They are Boy 11,Girl 9, Boy 6.

We did PCH GRill breakfast in Dec.....DGD loved it.
Pictures from Photopass photographer were with Mickey. He did not go around to the tables.
Going to the tables were Minnie, Daisy, Pluto, Stitch and Goofy

The only regular character dinner is Goofy's Kitchen (DLH). Goofy's Kitchen is going to be closed for a refurbishment soon, so from Jan 19 to Feb 9, 2016, PCH Grill will have characters at dinner. (Personally, I also wondering if this is also a test to see whether or not PCH Grill sees a substantial increase in guests when there are characters at dinner because the last few times I've been there at dinner, it wasn't very busy.).

In terms of breakfast, as noted, characters are subject to change, but for the most part, the characters at Storytellers and Surf's Up don't seem to change very often. Most commonly, I've seen Meeko, Koda & Kenai (from Brother Bear), and Chip & Dale (with their woodland scarves) at Storyteller's Critter Breakfast. Over at Surf's Up, the most common characters at Mickey, Daisy, Pluto, Stitch, and Minnie.

When we've been, it's been Minnie, Daisy, Pluto, Stitch, & Mickey. Fun interaction with the surf/dance party.

That's who was there yesterday. Stitch was having a good time making mischief. He borrowed a Star Wars 10k medal and wore it around, then had to be persuaded to give it back. Then he borrowed someone's phone. He got some stern talking-tos from the CMs.

I eat a Storyteller's quite a bit but not for the Characters. Last two times I was there I remember thinking that if I booked this meal as "Character Dining" I would have probably been quite ticked off as the characters were few and sparse.

I have also done Goffy's and PCH Grill regularly...PCH grill by far has the BEST character interaction as it is a smaller venues and they all get back to the tables more often.

Thats exciting to know! My son loves Mickey our first trip he was excited to see him but not excited to meet him, second trip he wouldn't let go of Mickey when he hugged him, so this third trip if I can get any extra Mickey time that would be awesome!
