Character dining?

Which restraunt? Most have characters all day. Tusker House is breakfast only not sure about all the others.

At DLR there are 5 character meals I can think of, three are only breakfast. Ariel's has princesses for both breakfast and lunch, and Goofy's is brunch/dinner. You might want to search for recent threads discussing differences as they have very different characters and types of food available at the different meals.

What are you interested in/ do you have kids?

Kids are 7,5,and 3. 2 girls and a boy. So I don't want to specifically do a 'princesses' and bore my DS to death.

I'd prefer a lunch/dinner type. Kind of a break during the day. There just isn't much information on disney's site about them. I like to do it all online instead of make the phone call with kids fighting in the background. Plus it's a surprise for them!

Do I NEED to book it in advance? I know to guarantee it, I do. But are they as busy as WDW?

We really liked Goofy's. We took my sons for their 5th birthday and they loved it. There were a lot of princesses, but there were some other characters as well.

While we haven't been to DL for 3 years, we have done all the character meals. I have two sons (now aged 7 and 11), and they loved each one. You really can't go wrong.

However, the one they always ask to go back to is Goofy's. :thumbsup2

I was just looking at Character Meals on the Disneyland website!
There are five:
-Ariel's Grotto - Princess Breakfast and Lunch in DCA
- Disney's PCH Grill - Surf's Up Breakfast at Paradise Pier Hotel
- Goofy's Kitchen - Buffet Breakfast or Dinner at Disneyland Hotel
- Plaza Inn - Minnie & Friends Breakfast at Disneyland
- Storyteller's Cafe - Chip 'n Dale Critter Breakfast at Grand Californian Hotel

So if you don't want breakfast, you have Ariel's Grotto and Goofy's Kitchen. We've done Ariel's with my girls, but with a little boy, Goofy's might be your best bet.

And yes, I would book in advance just to ensure you get the time slot that you would like, especially if going during a busy season.

Thanks for this! :goodvibes Was just about to check the Disney website for which ones offered lunch and dinner now. Didn't Ariel's used to have character dinner?

Thanks
Erica

Yes, Ariel's used to have a character dinner, but now they have the World of Color Preferred Dining package. So you can buy a dinner at Ariels, then you get a pass to the Preferred Viewing area of World of Color. I don't think it's a character meal though!
