Hi,
I have a 1 free character dining with my package, and was wondering how to use it. The only options i see at DL are for breakfast character dining. Is there character dining for lunch ??

TIA!

There is only one character meal that is actually IN Disneyland, and that's the Minnie and Friends Breakfast.

Ariel's Grotto, which is in California Adventure, offers breakfast and dinner, but is not a character meal for dinner.

Goofy's Kitchen, which is in the Disneyland Hotel, offers brunch (both breakfast and more "lunchtime" foods, and a seperate dinner menu.

Mickey's Surf's Up is also a brunch, and is located in the Paradise Pier Hotel.

Finally, there is the Chip & Dale Breakfast, which is in the Grand Californian Hotel, but that is just breakfast and changes over to non-character dining after breakfast time.

Hope that helps.

Just one addition to the list--Ariel's Grotto does do lunch and it is a meal with the princesses.

What we often do is one of the later breakfast seatings and treat it as an early brunch. We'll be doing that again this trip at Minnie and Friends.

Good to know...I've never eaten there, and assumed it was just the Princess Breakfast and the WOC dinner. Do they have a seperate lunch menu? (As opposed to the breakfast & dinner menus?)

Is your voucher for a premium character meal? If it is I would take advantage of one of the premium locations (ie: Goofy's, Ariel's Grotto).

We were at goofy's today! Tasty food, very fresh, decent service and really good character interaction: aurora, chip and dale, mad hatter, baloo, pluto and goofy (of course!)

I'd do that or ariel --if you want princesses

The food at Ariel's Grotto is pretty good, and we do love Chef Goofy's for dinner. If I had one voucher and was only going to eat one character meal though, I would choose Minnie and Friends breakfast hands down. It is our tradition to eat there each trip. We've never had a bad experience. With typical american breakfast fare, there is something for everyone to eat. On each trip, we have always seen 5-11 characters. If it has to be a lunch meal, you can eat with the princesses for lunch at Ariel's Grotto.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna stick with Minnie and Friends breakfast..it sounds like fun! I'll try to make the reservation for a little later..maybe we will ride a ride or two then go :) can't wait!:goodvibes

We did the Minnie and Friends in June. I would recommend getting the 1st reservation of the day if it's available. You actually get seated before the park even opens (they walk you in with an escort). We were literally the 1st reservation. Tigger and Eyeore were at the entrance and hugged our son immediately. Minnie was waiting for us at our table. We got quite a bit of one on one time with her. It was a good 3-4 minutes before any other guests were even in the room. We saw Minnie, Tigger, Eyeore, Captain Hook, Chip, Dale, Fairy Godmother (who was beyond awesome), penguin and Ghepetto. Donald Duck came out just as we were leaving.
