Hi. I need a little advice regarding character dining as our first trip to WDW is in 3 weeks and I am now very confused or possibly being really stupid. Having read through various threads I came to the conclusion that a character breakfast at Crystal Palace would suit my 2 year old son as he is a fan of WTP and Tigger. However whilst looking on wdwinfo website I noticed the following information:

Dining For Kids - NOTE: The age range for children's dining at the Disney restaurants, buffets, dinner shows and character dining is 3 - 9

So, does this mean he will not be allowed a character breakfast as he is too young or is it just saying that he will be free of charge because he is under 3.

Also, if he is allowed a character meal can anyone suggest anywhere else maybe for a lunch that might suits his age group.

Many Thanks :sunny:

I read that as if he will be free. and some one age 3-9 pays a child price, over 9 pays adult.

I am sure some one wll be able to confirm that.

You've got it in one :)

Make the most of him being free :) :)

Some parents report their children were a little overwhelmed by the characters - but my then just 3 year old loved them immediately :)

Oh and I think the Crystal Palace would be just perfect for your Pooh fan. See this recent thread here

Thank-you. That's what I thought initially but then I started questioning myself.

Miffy2003 - Do you have any ideas for any other suitable restaurants where he might enjoy a character meal which your son enjoyed?

If I was you,.id check first by going to a park - does he like the characters .My sons first two visits he was scared of them. But now at 3 years old - he does enjoy them.My 18 month girl was scared last year too,but she didnt mind them at a distance.
Yes he can go.Yes-hes free!

Have a great holiday,
Lynn

My children's absolute favourite is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort (right next to the Magic Kingdom). Mickey and friends are there, they do a napkin waving dance that every can join in on and it is high energy and lots of fun.

We have done almost all of the character meals now over the years and Chef Mickey's is the winner for them.

my kids' first character dinners were at Chef Mickey's......i have pictures of them being fed by the characters there...
and the other character meal they loved, the Melvin the Moose Breakfast, unfortunately no longer exists.....

my daughter first experienced character meals from about age 2 and loved them..........
my son started when he was 6 weeks old (when i doubt he actually noticed) and continued from there (when he was 1, 1.5 and again at age 2 years).......he always liked the characters at the meals....

as for whether the Chrystal Palace breakfast will be good......we went this summer and while i don't have a 2 year old any more, my 78 year old mother loved it....the characters were very sweet to her (it was her birthday)....Winnie the Pooh had all the kids dance around the room and sing happy birthday to her.....she thought it was great......

can i just add another vote for chef mickeys, took dd when she was two. She (and us) thought breakfast was great, mickey and minnie were fab abd spent lots of time with her...
