I phone and i was told there are 3 character dining options for the magic kingdom, the castle, the crystal palace --i forgot and some type of tree-can you tell i have never dined there before, anyway we will be celebrating my neices birthday and i would like to know which ones you attended and your experiences, my neice will be 10 and so far i am leaning for the one at the tree, it has minnie, mickie, pooh and chip n dale, it's family style, they give a card signed by mickey etc.. plus i asked about the menu and it seems pretty good,

so can you tell me which ones you did, how was the food and what was it like, it does cost a pretty penny 27 bucks for everyone 10 well we will have 5 people over 10 and only 1 under, but hey the kids are worth it--i guess :confused3

OK ...

You have Crystal Palace with pooh and friends. This is a very pretty place and I think a 10 year old girl would love the decor and feeling of it. The food is pretty good too. It's a buffet with a lot of variety.

You have Cinderella's Royal Table inside the castle and we have had dinner there but they just changed everything so I'm not sure how I feel about the new set up. She can meet Cindy there. I ate dinner there on my b-day and it was nice ... but was not one of my favorites.

I have not been to Liberty Tree Tavern in 20 years but the characters are dressed up in old fashioned colonial outfits. I don't think the menu has changed in 20 years because I remember eating the turkey dinner.

I would vote for Crystal Palace. It's pretty, you can't go wrong with Pooh (I think this is the only place he is gauranteed to be there) and it's less of a hassle to get into than the castle.

Hope this helps!

We loved Liberty Tree Tavern. It was surely the best of the bunch for boys, at least. The food is quite yummy.

I defintly say Liberty Tree Tavern! Soo good! You may ned ressie's though. It is a family style meal with all kinds of meat, stuffing, pretty much like your avg. Thanksgiving feast!

Well, all 3 are different in dining style. Crystal Palace (which we love) is a buffet so everyone has plenty to choose from but you have to leave the table to fill your plate.

Liberty Tree Tavern is "family style" so they bring the food to your table but the selections are limited - everybody in the restaurant gets basically the same food.

At the castle you have the price issue - I thought it was expensive BEFORE they increased the prices! We had lunch there last October and it was OK. Not amazing and fabulous, but OK. You order from a menu but there are only like 5 choices. I asked for bread and our poor server had quite the ordeal just to find some. In the end she brought out some of the pretzel bread they serve the kids hot dogs on because they literally have NO bread.

Crystal Palace would be my choice, but we enjoy buffets and have had very good experiences there.

I prefer Liberty Tree Tavern. The food has been very good both times we went and it's a much more subdued atmosphere than Crystal Palace.

You may want to double-check the characters for Liberty Tree. I was specifically told that Mickey would NOT be there, just Minnie and a few of the other classic characters.

Isn't Pooh only at Crystal Palace, too?

We did CP last week and had an ADR for 9am. I thought the breakfast buffet was wonderful! The place is beautiful but we did wait an awful long time for the characters to come around. The characters were Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger.

I also like Liberty tree tavern. The food is great and it's all can eat but brought to your table instaed of buffet. The characters when I was there were Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale. We didn't wait long and they spent alot of time with DD who was 3 then. Alslo CRT is nice for girls who like the princesses. The food is good too, but not worth 2 TS to me. We will pay OOP for this one because DD wants to go.

in my many trips to liberty tree it has been: pluto, minnie, chip, dale, goofy or meeko in place of goofy never Mickey.

Here's my 2 cents. We've eaten dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and enjoyed it (Jan. 05) Even my mom liked it and she's pickier than me. Characters present were Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. No Mickey. Since we were there fairly late, the characters came around several times each-almost got to be a joke. We really like the salad and have even tried to make it at home. Haven't eaten at the other two-my DD6 doesn't like Pooh & Co. at all (too babyish) and I don't want to get up at 4 a.m. to book the castle.

That being said, our new favorite character, and buffet, is the Park Faire 1900 at Grand Floridian. It's only a short monorail ride to the hotel. The characters are, usually, Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Suzy and Perla (the mice). Last time, we even had a surprise visit from Aurora. Haven't seen the Fairy Godmother, but we always dine late. We usually close the place. Anyway, the food is really good! Not your usual buffet fare-go hungry. And the desserts are awesome. As I mentioned, we've dined there late (both times) and they continue to replenish the food until everyone is gone. And even though we were the last to leave last time, they didn't rush us out. Price is $29 adults and $14 kids.

Happy dining!

Our family, DH, DS 8, DD3 and myself has eaten at both Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace several times each. If I were a huge Pooh fan, I would eat at Crystal Palace. I wouldn't go there just for the food though.. As far as Disney buffets go, it is not one of our favorites. We prefer the Liberty Tree Tavern. We made an ADR there for our trip coming up in Aug. We think that the food is better there. We also tend to make our ADR at such a time that we finish eating and then walk out, sit down and watch the Spectromagic parade. We have never tried Cinderella's castle.
