Character Dining for Larger Family

We will have a group of 7 family members (and 9 on some days). We would like to reserve
Topolinos character breakfast
Artist Point Storytime dinner
Chef Mickey‘s breakfast or lunch

in some of my practice searching, I am unable to get larger group reservations. I am targeting a group of 8 since I don’t think 7 would work. With the group of nine, one is an infant, we might need to try booking 8 and hoping to bring him in with us.

Plan B is to make two reservations (4 and 4 or 4 and 6) using two separate adult accounts and try to get the close to the same time and see if they can seat us close together.

I am curious about this as well (our group is 10). Checking each day for those same restaurants with no luck for any group size. I just got of the phone with DVC member services and she suggested breaking into two smaller groups. I'm confused because I asked about making two dining reservations for the same time, and she said that was fine? And it seems so hard to get one reservation, let alone getting two around the same time.

One person cannot have two reservations within a two hour window, is my understanding. You have to get another adult in the travel party to make the second reservation. Then show up together and see what they can do.
Also, you just need one person to show for each reservation. You vpcan make a reservation for 8 and only have seven show up, it appears the reservation system doesn’t like odd number parties. Try 2, 4, 6 and 8 combinations.
