Character Dining Extravaganza 6 days on Deluxe Dining (updated 4/29)

Hello! My name is Megan and this is the first time for doing a dining review! A little about my family and I. First there is my DP Teressa, and our 2 beautiful girls Aydan (4) and Georgia (2).

This will be the girls first trip there and we are so excited! Teressa and I went 6 years ago before kids and had a blast and now cant wait for them to enjoy it as well. Both of the girls have sensory disorders and as such I don't think they will wait in long lines to meet characters. We are doing almost every character dining that we can to make up for this!

We will be doing 6 days on the deluxe dining plan. When we went last time we did the dining plan but the one below this one. We were going to do it again but Georgia can not be on it and has to share our plates. Since she eats more then Aydan, we decided to go for the bigger one. We will see how it goes!

Oh I forgot to mention that this trip is also Teressa and I's 14 anniversary!

Here is our ADR's. There will be 2 more places that we eat at for lunch but those are not preplanned. Most of these are new for us! The only ones we went to were Garden Grill, Ohanas, and Chef Mickey's (which we did for breakfast).

We leave tomorrow and can't wait! The girls are so excited that they both did not want to go to bed last night. We are heading out today and staying at a hotel near the airport for our 6 am flight out. Thanks everyone for joining in. I will be bringing my laptop with so hopefully I will be able to do some reviews while there.

Sorry for the delay, life has been Crazy since we got back! We had a great time and ate some great and not so great food lol. I have a lot of pics and will start my first review soon. Im hoping tomorrow while my child is at school. Thanks for sticking around.

So our vacation was great! So much food! lol I am very glad we did the deluxe dining though because for us it was just much easier not having to deal with how much everything was and what not. The girls had a blast with all the characters and because most of the meals were character dining I am going to include pictures of the girls at the end of each review .

I have to say the only negative thing on the trip (well besides a lot of meltdowns from my 4 yr old) was that our anniversary was not acknowledged at any restaurant. The character dining I can kind of see but we did a few sit down nicer places and only one said anything at all. And it was only addreded to me till I pointed out it was both of ours.

Ok on to the FOOD!
We dined at The Garden Grill. It was very good! We both loved the atmosphere and I have to say this was probably the best character interactions. They were not rushed at all and the girls saw each character twice. On the table when we arrived they had plates arranged into the shape of a mickey head The girls loved that. They also liked the fact that the restaurant went in a circle.



First up was the bread basket. It was delivered with maple butter. Very good rolls and they were very warm. They got a 2 thumbs up from Aydan(4) who mainly only eats bread. In fact for dinner this is all she ate.


We asked for a glass of water and this is what we received! We came from Illinois so we had a hard time adjusting to the temps the first day. By the time dinner came I was dying of thirst. Teressa only had one glass and I drank the rest of it


I am not a big salad person but I did enjoy this one. It was nice and fresh, very crispy. Teressa loves salad and would eat one for every meal if possible. I do not remember what kind of dressing was on it but whatever it was was very good. It was nice to know that the salad from the garden that they have. We took the ride to see the gardens right before dinner.


Dinner included buttermilk mashed potatoes, Char-grilled Filet of Beef with Red Wine Sauce, Sustainable Fish of the Day with Roasted Tomato and Pepper Compote, Roasted All-Natural Turkey Breast with Lemon Caper Sauce, and garden Fresh vegetables. I am sure we received the vegetables but I don't have a picture of them and I don't remember eating them lol but Teressa does. The Buttermilk mashed potatoes were great, very creamy! Teressa and I ate all of them. I have to say out of the meats I enjoyed the beef the most. I am not a huge meat eater but I did enjoy that. I do not eat Fish and only tried a small bite. I found the turkey a tad dry even with the sauce. Teressa loved the fish the best. This is very funny because she is a huge beef eater! She liked the beef but it wasn't, in her words, tremendous. The fish was excellent in her option. It was very moist and didn't have that real fish taste. Teressa said she would love to have more of it. She also thought the turkey wasn't dry. We had very different options about the turkey lol.


This was the girls dinner. It included Oven-roasted Chicken Drumstick, Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Broccoli, Crispy Sweet Potato Sticks. I do not know how it tasted because I did not try it. Teressa tried the fries and did not care for them. Aydan(4) ate only a few bites of the broccoli and that was it. Georgia(2) on the other hand ate almost the entire bowl of mac and cheese! She loved it. She also ate both of the chicken drumsticks but she loves chicken


Dessert time! By this time we were pretty full the girls were getting tired. But we did try the dessert. For us it was Fresh-baked Harvest Skillet Cake with Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream and for the girls they got Cupcake Cone with Crisp Pearls. I loved the skillet cake! and if I wasn't so full would have eaten a lot more then I did lol. The cake was moist and the vanilla bean whipped cream well I could have eaten just a big bowl of just that. Georgia liked her cupcake but Aydan said it was yucky. So Georgia ate Aydan's as well!

Over all we had a great experience! It was nice and the food was great. The girls had a blast with all the characters so I think if (when) we go back, we definitely will come back here.
