Character dining at the hotels

I see the menus for character dinners at the hotels and it looks like a la carte ordering. Does anyone know how many characters there are and which ones come to which restaurants? It looks like Islands is Asian foord and Portfino is seafood and Italian. Are there photographers there to take pictures?

i haven't seen any photographers when i did the dining at rpr.
i go solo and don't spend as much time as a family would there for eating.

could be if there are anh photographers, i was already out of the room by that time.

in past times i have been there, it has been two characters that walk around the tables and chat with the guests.
they have a handler that interacts for them.
you can take all the pictures you want with them.
the characters vary.
at times i have seen scooby do, shaggy and another of that group together.
flintstones, homer simpson, have been common the past two years.

yes, at islands, you order off the menu.
just like any other day people eat there.

the characters are an added bonus to visit with the guests during the dining hours.

they alternate to hotels on certain days of the week.
the website lists the days of the week for which hotel you will see them.

but, there have been times when i was there and days were swapped out for a different hotel

The interaction with them is fantastic!

Like Mac, we have had scooby and shaggy, Simpsons, Shrek and Fiona, Woody Woodpecker and last year we finally got Gru and minion. That was the best ever! Gru was brilliant.........very funny and spent lots of time with us despite not having children.

The handler is more than happy to take any pictures you may want.........we got loads of pictures with them.

The Islands was very quiet that night too which was good.

Can definitely recommend Islands at RPR for the experience.
