Character Dining at Resorts ever not in at 60 days?

Is there a possibility that all available reservations aren't loaded in exactly at the 60-day point?

This morning I was trying to book breakfast for any of the three: 'Ohana, Topolino, or Chef Mickey at 60+9. I needed to try for 8 people but checked for 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 people. Absolutely nothing at all three resorts. So I checked dinner for Chef Mickey, same thing.

I've never had that happen before. We're doing a quick stay earlier while passing through town in June before the parks trip end of the month and I was able to get Topolino's breakfast last week at 60+2 with no issue and my pick of times.

Was able to get reservations for 8 pretty much everywhere else we wanted, even at places I thought we'd have to split 4/4. But for the character breakfasts (outside of parks) I saw no availability across the board.

Was wondering if anyone else has seen this or found a bunch of reservations loaded that night, next day, etc.?

I had that problem with Chef Mickey when I booked for our January trip. Nothing available at 60+10. Never did figure out what the issue was. I know they said they were going to start holding back some resort based reservations for guests staying there but never heard if that was the cause. There should have been something that far out.

if you weren't searching this way before, try searching for specific times rather than "breakfast"

Thanks, everyone! Def could understand holding back some reservations for guests at those resorts, but this seems like all of them.

I'll guess will keep checking, We like to end our trips with a character breakfast at a resort :). I tried checking every which way I knew how but did mostly book from the restaurant page because that was the only way MDE would recognize our ADR window instead of just 60 days.

They are holding back ADRs. And our Dec trip there were several issues with STK71 ADR being frozen and 2 hours around it (we were told we had to pay the cancellation and later request a refund because they could not cancel it; IT ticket was opened but I was never contacted). We were staying at the Poly and Ohana has been mediocre (beef is still inedible; the rest of the meal was surprisingly better vs spring) so we were trying to avoid it at all costs.

Does anyone know if ADRs are reserved for guest of that specific resort or their related DVC as well. For instance Kidani village can book Boma? Boulder ridge and Copper creek have Story book Dining ADRs set aside?

We end our trip with a character breakfast at Topolinos. It’s worth the effort to get there on checkout day. I was able to book an ADR staying at the Poly but had to split our ADR into 3 and 2 (booked using spouse as lead and then as myself; CMs have suggested doing this as well; in over a decade we never had to use two accounts for ADRs but the demand is just so high now). At checkin we let the CM know that we needed to combine our ADRs (time did overlap) and they said we had to wait a while but it wasn’t more than 15-20 mins.

I don't know the answers to that, but that's a good question?
What it does appear like is that even though we have 60+9, the resort's dining started showing up last night for 60 days out. Today on the new 60-day I saw Cape May and Chef Mickey pop up.

I guess they're releasing at 60 days for those not picked up? Nothing on Topolino's (we also like to end our trip there, but this one will take another one if we can't get it) or 'Ohana though.

Our next trip will be 6 nights, so shorter than our usual 7 night. It’s good to know that some ADRs are opening up at 60 days.

Would be great if you can get Topolinos on day 60. Are you checking daily?

Same day availability is there for Space220 lunch and dinner!

Honestly all fixed price dining should be prepaid similar to CRT.

I will be now! It at least gives hope :).

We usually only have 2-4 people but this trip will be 8 which is always a challenge for me to book and we do usually end up with 6/2 or 4/4. WDW is pretty good about accommodating where they can though.

Any in-park character meal was easy to get for 8, but we're looking to do one on a non-park day and/or departure. My first "real" day checking will be for June 29 and then again on July 3, so a few more days.

Good to know, thanks!
I might try to check for the lounge.

You can setup an account for another person in your group. Book an ADR for 4 and change the lead person to the other person. Then book another ADR for 4 using you as the lead (has to be the other person first otherwise the system will recognize you have an ADR for that time). The restaurants know the system isn’t perfect and can combine or seat you close together the day of (even Topolinos didn’t bat an eye)

I didn't know you could change the lead person, I'll have to play around with that, thanks! I often book under myself and then DH but have to toggle between two browsers or use a phone/laptop.

We've never gone to an ADR with two separates and had them sit us far apart, either they'll get a big table or two next to one another which works great. The only exception was LeCellier but there's like no space in there, lol.

I am seeing tons of Chef Mickey and Cape May today that was definitely not there yesterday. Tomorrow will check and see...if so they must be releasing 60 days out instead of 60+ for certain restaurants it seems?

It’s just easier on ADR morning, otherwise it’s the same thing you’re doing without logging into two accounts.

Space220 doesn’t have same day lounge reservations (they kind of want everyone to walk up to lunch - more $$$). They were trying to convince us to convert our lounge ADR to a lunch. We were seated far apart even though one party was an adult and child and the other a teen and child.

I've been watching the last few days...it looks like WDW might be dropping these on a rolling 60 day?

This morning more chef mickey, cape may, and 'ohana popped up for 60 days out Also, ADRs are dropping overnight I think, not at 6 am
