Character Dining at Resort Hotels

I have noticed that each resort hotel at Universal has a night designated for character dining. Do we need to basically just hit up one of those nights or are the characters different at each evening?? If they are the same characters I figured I could just go to one night of the character dining!!

We would usually go to RPR The Islands for Scooby & Shaggy, they used to have 3 nights , mon wed & sat, but its now wed & sat, you would need to call resorts nearer your time to find out whos there. I know at RPR when they had 3 nights, it was Scooby & Shaggy -then Shrek & Fiona - and The Simpsons.

We actually did all three last visit in Dec. because my son wanted to see all the hotels. We were staying at HRH and they had Bart and Homer Simpson at the Kitchen (the same as our last visit in June). RPR had Scooby - we were there for almost an hour and no other characters came out. PBH had Scooby and Shrek. We enjoyed visiting each one of the hotels, but I don't know if we will make a point to do them all again.

The character interactions in the park are so much fun and the characters are so readily available without long lines that character meals aren't necessary. Great if you are interested in the restaurants, but if you are really going for the characters seeing them in the park will more than make you happy.

The concierge also said that they can change up the characters every few months, so who knows what they will be next time.

There is also a Spiderman breakfast at Confisco Grille in IOA, but since we went in Dec. it had switched to the Grinch, Cat in the Hat and the Who's - had so much fun we probably will do Spiderman just to say that we have done them all.
