Ds will be turning 11 on his birthday trip. We're definitely doing Ohana breakfast on his birthday.

As far as characters, he'll pose with them for pics but he's not, like, overjoyed or desperate to meet any in particular. At Ohana he liked seeing the characters but will not participate in the parade.

He's sort of in that weird spot of still liking his stuffed animals and pillow pets but sort of starting to be less into all the kiddie stuff.

How's chef mickeys? Other cool recommendations? Doesn't have to be restaurants, just anything cool but not outrageously priced.

For the first time we made ressies for Sci Fi at HS and loved it. Just burger or veggie burger type food, but loved how they served the old in old time convertible whle movie clips and shows were on the movie screen. Dd had a meteor glass with a glowing ice cube in it.
Fun experience and about $20.00.

I would take him to see either Cirque Du Soleil La nouba or go see The Blue Man Group. Both shows are awesome. Blue Man group is really fun.

Great age. Still a child but can do most if not all of the major attraction. Earlier poster mentioned Sci Fi. Great choice. Whispering Canyons is another one. He probably isnt into the Princesses but I bet a Chef Mickeys or Chrystal Palace would still be good choices and they are buffets so most boys that age like that. I had probably my best trip with DD twins. Oh Rainforest Cafe at DAK another good choice.

Forgot about Sci-fi! We did that during our 2010 trip and he enjoyed it. Maybe we'll do it again.

I'd love cirque or Blue man Group but I feel like he'd LOVE Bmg. Going to have to look into this.

I think Rainforest Café would be a perfect place to eat for your DS's age! Also the T-Rex café is really cool...As far as character meals I would say Tusker House in AK, love it there:goodvibes Others posted about the Sci Fi restaurant, that's a great pick too.

It would be a bit pricey to get over to the City Walk but my DS9 absolutely loved BMG. He also enjoyed La Nouba, but said BMG is better. He also absolutely loves TRex and Sci-Fi Diner.
