<font color=navy>Disneyland has started a new opportunity to have fun with the characters:

Disneyland will have three character celebrations daily.

These celebrations will begin with a float, or rolling stage, moving its way down Main Street to a certain location. It will then stop, and the characters will invite guests to join them in a celebration. The total experience will last from 15-20 minutes.

Sleeping Beauty's Royal Celebration 1/28/05
A float/rolling stage will roll down Main Street and stop in front of the Main Street hub area. There will be 45 dancers and characters, including all of the princesses, the Beast, fairies, Cinderella's mice, court jesters, and the dwarves, who will invite the guests to join their celebration. (This has already started, and people who have participated have said that it is fun and a welcomed addition to the Land.)

Mickey's Magic Kingdom Celebration 2/11/05
A float/rolling stage will roll down Main Street with Mickey and a cast of main characters who will celebrate Disneyland, featuring different lands like Fantasyland and Frontierland, with music representing the different areas of Disneyland. Guests will be invited to join them in their Disneyland celebration.

Mary Poppins Supercalifragilistic It's a Celebration 2/18/05
A float/rolling stage will roll down Main Street with Mary Poppins, chimney sweeps, nannies, and penguins for a "Jolly Holiday" Chimney sweeps will be on the top of the rooftops on Main Street, and will invite guests to "Step in Time" and they will grab the guests to dance with them in the street.

It will take about 10 minutes to get to the celebration location, and then about 10 minutes for the actual celebration, and then the characters will travel away.

There will be three celebrations a day. At first, there will be two a day and Mickey's Cavalcade, but then they'll phase out the cavalcade and have three different celebrations a day.

How will it work next week - since on the Princesses one seems to have debuted? We'll be there before the Feb. 11 2nd one comes out.

Thanks!

The DL schedule will have Character Celebrations on it & the times. Just be on Main Street about the time it's supposed to start - probably near the castle/Walt's statue so you can play & dance with the characters. :)

Sounds like Mickey's thingy we saw when we were there....geez whats the name of it? Starcade or something like that? The one we thought was a 'parade' and were pretty disappointed! At least now they call it what it is!!! It is cute and a good way to see the characters all at once. Kids will love it.

Dancing on Main Street with characters...that sounds perfect for me. I hope my DD will join me. ;)

Is this permanent or just for a short time?

From what I have heard it is just a temporary thing to tide people over until the new parade starts during the 50th celebration starting May 5th.

<font color=navy>Lesley -- that is pretty easy to imagine. :)

This is supposed to end on May 3rd. May 4th DL will be closed, and May 5th = grand opening with the new Dreams parade.
