The new Character Caravan is advertised to go from 7:30 am to 9:00 am in various locations. But don't wake up and run to that location to be there at 7:30--your early rising may be in vain! Here's how the CC worked in AKL: they sent four characters over from 8:10-8:40, then they took a half hour break, then those same characters came back for another half hour from 9:10-9:40.
So--check with the front desk of your hotel and see what the scoop is. They probably won't be able to tell you who the characters are that will be there, but they should be able to tell you the times.
If you're planning to spend a lot of time at MK, it's probably worth it to do the CC. I found very few characters walking around in MK (was there 11/5 and 11/6). I also found it was good to get to the park around 9:30 so that you avoided the crush of opening visitors, but still got in before the park got really crowded around late morning/early afternoon. So, that leaves you some time to do the CC after you eat breakfast--or before, if you eat quickly!
