Character Brekkie Pic - use own camera?

Oh my goodness! We leave for the airport tonight and get to the world on Wednesday!

Anyway, I have a quick question. We are booked into quite a few character breakfasts - just DH and I - as we love our breakfasts and are on the DxDP so why not! We know we won't buy the photos at any of them (we know we get one at CRT anyway). Is it the done thing to ask a CM or the Photographer to take our photo with the character at the entrance with our own cameras? Or do they just save that photo opportunity for the official pic?

we had our waitress take a few of us at Crystal Palace.........they usually do this chore with a smile........I dont think we did it at Akershus......but the kids faces were enough for us to take photos of......

Many times (but not always) the wait staff has offered to take pictures of my girlfriend and I with the characters, but we don't go out of our way to ask. Usually, from our experience, they see us take a picture of eachother with the first character and by the second character they offer to take pictures of both of us. Our waitress at CM this past May seemed to make it a point to be by our table when each character got to us, and she did it without us asking.

Also, we never asked at Akershus or CRT since the photo package is included, but at Donald's Breakfast Safari @ TH the Photopass photographer had no problem taking our picture with Donald with our own camera. My girlfriend was holding on to the camera (with no intention of asking) when the PP CM asked if we wanted a picture on our camera.
