Hi,

Last went to dlrp about 3 years ago with my (then) 3 yr old. Stayed at the Santa Fe and booked for a breakfast at Walts one morning to meet all the characters.. This was a major highlight which I wanted to do again when we go in 5 weeks - although this time he's now 6 and also coming is my new partner and her 9 year old.

Through reading various guides it seems that Walts has stopped Character Breakfasts... Is this correct? :confused3

I think the alternative is Plaza Gardens according to the Food Guide (linked in the stickies). Anyone with any observations on how good this is?

We are staying in the Hotel New York (checkin Tue - checkout Fri) with an offsite hotel stay on the Monday night to make the most of the tickets. Any recommendations on which day to book a character breakfast for and where?

Would it be better to book for the Disney Village restaurant that is hosting the character breakfast (seeing as HNY is just round the corner) or does the breakfast in Plaza Gardens give a much better jump on the time entering the park?

And any tips to stop us adults getting far too excited too early - the kids are ok at the moment cos they see 5 weeks as being ages away - but I know it'll be here before I know it.... :yay:

Yes the character breakfast is now at the Plaza Gardens. Personally I would choose this rather than Cafe Mickey - there is something special about walking up Main Street before the crowds :cloud9:

I don't think there is anything that can be done, except to come here and talk about it!! :goodvibes

I'm going in five weeks too. If you do find any way to stop adults from getting too excited, please let me know!!! The wait is killing me!!!!!

Hi

We had the character breakfast when we went last year at Plaza Gardens, I thought it was very good, hot buffet style breakfast, with loads of choice and cereals and tea, coffe, chocolate brought to your table. The characters made sure they went to everyone's tables, it was one of the highlights of the trip.
My tip is as soon as you are let throughthe gates, run/walk as fast as you can to get ahead of the queue, we got straight in, but late arrivers were queuing for ages. You also finish first and get out into the park earlier.
