Character Breakfast!!!

I'll second MaryJo with Goofy's. They are all good, but Goofy's is better for characters:D

I'll third Goofys-

For a good cheaper option Id do Ariels in DCA- but its not as wonderful as Goofys -em

Have you considered the Character Breakfast at the Plaza Inn? We ate there during our last trip and my kids thought they were really special when we got to enter the park to have breakfast when everyone else was still waiting behind the ropes on Main Street. Also do your children have favorite characters? You might want to call ahead and ask before you make your decision as some of the breakfast's offered only have certain characters, not all. For instance, if your kids really love Winnie the Pooh, they might be disappointed if he isn't there for hugs and autographs.

Can anyone elaborate on which characters are at each of these? Or is there a website that has that info?

Thanks!

<font color=navy>Goofy's Kitchen has different ones. When we were there we saw Goofy, Jasmine, the Mad Hatter, Genie, Donald, and a few others.

Chip & Dale at Storytellers has Chip & Dale, and maybe a couple of others

Minnies Breakfast has Minnie, I think Daisy, not sure, and a few others

Plaza Inn has Pooh, Tigger, & Eeyore

I've been to Goofy's & Plaza Inn, and both have a lot of character interaction. At Goofy's Kitchen the characters also dance with whoever wants to every 20 minutes or so - lots of fun. At Plaza Inn we got a lot of interaction and Tigger was so funny.

Goofy's Kitchen at DL Hotel is a really good one to go to. I highly recommend it.

Call for reservations and find out if "Gaston" is currently doing any character breakfasts. He was at Goofy's Kitchen during one of our visits and was an absolute riot. Signs autographs with things like: "You are beautiful, so am I". I still giggle thinking about it.

We went to the Minnie breakfast at Paradise Pier. We saw Goofy, Minnie, Max and Pluto. All of them came by the table, and Max danced with the kids. It was well worth it~

Ok...can you give a price range? And do you need to make reservations? If so, how far in advance?

TIA,
:earsgirl: Carlen

Well, I called the day before for the breakfast. The only time I could have was at 7:30 AM. We were about 10 minutes late, but they didn't fuss about it. I am going to the Californian at the end of the month, and intend to call this week.
As far as price, the OJ was constantly refilled, which was very nice. I ordered the Mickey pancake breakfast for my son, which was about $8. I had eggs, toast and bacon- which were all side orders and cost about $12. The total for our breakfast with drinks and tip was just under $30. They also offered an all you can eat buffet for about $20 an adult.

Wow...anything cheaper? My husband wants to stay on a tight budget...so...???

 Carlen

They have a menu, so you could opt to just have toast and coffee, and save a bunch. There isn't a requirement as to how much you have to spend. ;)

The character breakfasts are expensive but are well worth it. At Goofy's Kitchen (my personal favorite) you get a ton of food and incidentally the tip is figured into the price as are all of your beverages. It think it is better at lunch or dinner because you feel like you are getting more than just breakfasty kinds of things. Plaza Pavillion only has character meals until 11:00 a.m. and does not take reservations so it can be very crowded. Always make a reservation for Goofy's Kitchen. The price is high but every piece of food you put in your mouth at Disneyland is expensive. For example we ate at Redd Rockets pizza in Disneyland and had three pieces of pizza, four drinks and one bag of chips and it was $30. So in that case Goofy's doesn't seem that bad because you will get salad bar, dessert, roast beef, chicken, pizza, and everything else you can imagine for not that much more. One way to save money on food at Disneyland is take your own water bottles, snacks and make sure you have all your necesssites such as camera film, diapers, sunblock, advil etc. A disposable camera is $20 so you get the idea. Also, take your own breakfast stuff like cereal bars and juice boxes to avoid eating that meal out. If you know in advance you will spend a lot of money when you get there it won't be a surprise and you can just have fun!

Gooofy's is my favorite also, followed by Ariel's Grotto(I just love sitting outside here, it's so relaxing!!)

When we do Goofy's we do it as brunch. Have a quick light breakfast in the morning, usually in the hotel something we've brought from home, then head to the parks get out "morning park routine" done and as it starts filling up late morning head over to Goofy's! Fills you up for quite awhile and gives ya a little park break! We usually head over to DCA after this.

Are there any grocery stores close to DLH? When we go to DW, we have our driver stop at a grocery store and get a disposable cooler and stock up on breakfast items and snacks and water. Then we eat out one good meal a day. There are 7 of us so even one big meal a day adds up! Of course we always end up having mickey's ice cream or whatever. Do you think the shuttle van would stop at a groc. store if we are the only ones on it?

We ate at all four hotel character meals last week. Goofy's Kitchen had the most characters by far and the food was pretty good. We really liked the food at Storyteller's Cafe, but there were only 3 characters. We enjoyed the food and service at Minnie's but there were only 2 characters which we thought was a rip-off because the price was the same as Goofy's. Also, Goofy's, Plaza Inn, & PCH all take triple AAA for a 1-% discount if anyone in your party has it. Also, we ate at Blue Bayou and found it very expensive and the food not that good. My husband said he felt like we were part of the attraction and did not care for it. We also ate at PCH, Hook's Pointe and ESPN and loved all three. Hook's was a pricey, but great food. ESPN was pretty reasonable as well as PCH - it cost us about $60 with food, tax, & tip. Anytime, we ate in the park it was a whopping $35-40 for burgers or hotdogs.

Here is what we found, I would only do 1 or 2 character meals next time. We took a taxi down to Target(cost$20) and stocked up on water bottle, juice boxes, fruit snacks, honey buns, pop-tarts, goldfish, and various fun candies like Skittles, M&M's - we think this helped everytime we would sit for the parade it seemed like the vendors were there selling balloons and cotton candy, so it helped that we had something sweet and fun in our bag. I would get a loaf of bread and some PB & J for sandwiches and take it to the park. We tried to eat two meals a day out and snack the rest of the time. Also, I would invest in the plastic bottle soft drinks and take them into the park because soft drinks were $2.50 a pop with no refills. We had a wonderful time, and I bet your family will too~
