If you could do only one character breakfast, which one would you choose? We are going to WDW December 13-20 with a group of eight, and will probably do only one character breakfast as we only have one young child (3 year old girl) in the group. The next youngest is 13 years old and he is not too interested in character breakfasts. This is only my second trip to WDW, and I am not to familiar with character breakfasts.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share with me. :)

We choose by what characters the kids like most because it is a great time to get pics of the child/character without waiting in lines. The characters come right to the table in an orderly fashion.

What character does the 3 year old want to see?

Hi webray. She likes snow white, cinderella, the mermaid, mickey mouse, minnie mouse, donald duck, and lilo & stitch. My original thoughts were taking her to CRT, but at this late of time I did not think I would be able to get reservations. Appreciate any advice you can give me. :D

Try Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary. That seems to be a favorite of everyone, young and old. PLus, it is one of the few places to see the "Big Cheese" himself. Also Minnie. The food is good and varied, so it will please most. It is a buffet.

I also like Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club The food there was really good. This is a large buffet too. Our character interaction was good too.

We went to Cinderella's breakfast and I am glad we did it once, but we won't be back soon. The food was BLECH!! (except the chocolate muffins). The princesses were nice and the castle was great, but we had a better time and better food elsewhere.

The Princess breakfast at EPCOT is fun too and the food is a little better than Cindy's. This one is popular too so may be hard to get.

The Pooh Breakfast at Crystal palace in MK is another option. AGain this is a buffet, so you have a choice in your food. It tasted pretty good too. This had Pooh and friends and may be more suitable for your larger group.

Thanks Maggie for the great suggestions. I think I will try and get ps for Chef Mickey's. We did eat there three years ago when my son was 10 and he enjoyed it quite a bit. Like you said the food was great too. My three year old really enjoys mickey and minne mouse. In order to get her princess' fill, I am hoping to catch them at character greetings.

Thanks again. :)

A 3 year old girl would probably go for the princesses . Also, remember, at that age, they could still be afraid of the regular characters (my DD was at that age).

There is also the Princess breakfast in Norway you could try. We had three families this summer that vacationed together. We had PS's for both CRT and Princess Storybook breakfast for the trip. My family was too tired to get up early that morning for the Princess Storybook breakfast, but the other two families went and they thought that one was just a nice as CRT! Of course, I kicked myself for not getting up early to do that breakfast!

I won't hurt to try for a breakfast with the princesses when you call. Good luck!

Thank you AZKathy. My daughter would enjoy the Princess Storybook characters. I might get lucky with PS since we are going during a week that is considered "low crowds". :)

Perhaps you could take just your daughter to the Princess breakfast? It might be easier to get in with a smaller group. Just a thought.

We always choose by character as well but after that we like 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace in the MK and Cape May at the Beach Club. These were all very good as far as food and atmosphere.

Here's a list but I'm not sure how up to date it is: http://www.wdwig.com/cbchar.htm

I would pick the charcaters that your daughter would like. If you could not get breakfast, there is dinner with Cinderella, Pronce Charming, Perla and Suzy at the 1900 Park Fare.

Thank you all :) for the great ideas. I will put them to good use.:sunny:

I'd suggest Crystal Palace in MK for the 3 and the food.
Second choice would be Donalds Breakfast o surus in AK. Lots of fun for all ages and really good food.
Personally I'd avoid CM's. Too loud too crowded and if breakfast is lanything ike dinner, I'd rather starve.

If you want Princesses I'd try for CRT, but wouldn't count on it. Maybe book 1900 PF dinner instead.

I was given wonderful advice that I plan to use on my next trip - with a three year old it is better to hit the less stressful breakfasts and not do a buffet line - since you mention Lilo and Stitch why not take all this advice in and go to O'Hanas - served family style giving you more time to prepare for the characters coming to your table and less stress. Minnie and Mickey are there plus a lot of other characters and it is evokative of the Lilo and Stitch setting, they are not at the breakfast, though. Plus, the setting gives your older one something cool to do too.

My next favorite that makes AK that much better is Donald Breakfastsaurus. With such a young one I would recommend staying away from CM as it is crazy hectic and can be overwhelming - not much fun for your older child if they don't like these as it is just overwhelmingly character breakfast time as opposed to being a great setting like Donald's which one can explore around in to have something else to do other than just see characters.

The characters at both of these breakfasts are the ones you mention as favorites. Crystal Palace is just Pooh and friends which is what we will be doing this trip as my son has a new fascination with Pooh and is now less into Mickey.

Thanks castlegazer. :) I have read some great posts about both Donald's Breakfastsaurus and O'hanas. I especially like your idea about the family serve type meal at O'hanas. This does seem like it would be less stressful than a buffet type setting, plus I have always wanted to see the Poly. :p
