Just wondering what the character breakfast at IofA is like. Which characters are there? How is the food? Is it worth doing? Any reviews would be appreciated.

I have a review in my trip report from Feb. 07 (link in sig)... The breakfast was good...typical breakfast foods and it was okay....nothing horrible nor spectacular.

Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 & 2 and Spidey were there. It's a smaller restaurant, therefore, more time spent with the characters and more interaction. The prices are around $16/adult (forgive me, can't remember exactly) and NOTE: juice and milk are NOT included in that price :confused3 (I know...sounds dumb!)

Anyhow...I'd elaborate more, but like I said, there is a review (w/ pix) in my TR.

We did this in February of last year (and might do it again the end of the month). The characters are Spiderman, Cat in the Hat, thing 1 and thing 2. The food is basic breakfast fare with some red pancakes thrown in :lmao: The character interaction is amazing. Spiderman spent probably 10 minutes just talking to my oldest son :lovestruc

Definitely worth it.

My daughter (5 yrs) and I did this character breakfast in August 07. First of all, when we were seated, we were not seated in the main room, we were seated off to the side in a small room with about 5 other tables. I felt really excluded and as the characters mainly hung out in the main dining area. By the time my daughter and i had finished our meal, not one character had come over. I was angry. So I took my daughter by the hand and escorted her over to the main dining area and waited in line. The person directing the characters told us to go sit back down in our designated area & that they'd be over shortly. I tried telling her that we sat there the entire time and finished our meal and not a single character had come our way. She didn't care one bit, just simply dismissed us. I finally told our waiter how disappointed I was when I he handed me the bill and he apologized & went over and whispered for the characters to come into our area. Then we were swarmed with attention. I have to say, the characters were all wonderful, especially Spiderman and Thing 1 & 2!!! The food was just "ok," nothing to rave about, just basic breakfast food. I think if we had been seated in the main dining area, I'd feel differently. All in all, my daughter really enjoyed it.:thumbsup2

AND, that's what matters at the end of the day :goodvibes

You did the right thing to bring it to their attention.... Never let anyone 'dismiss' you... we all pay a lot of $$ at these parks, better get what you pay for. I don't think you were asking a lot, and glad to hear you spoke up....

Like my DH says, nobody listens till you start talking....... loudly :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the replies! Sounds like it may be worth doing.

We went to the character bfast and had a great time. As others have mentioned, the food doesn't appeal greatly to adult tastes, but my kids loved it. That's rare!

Spiderman was AMAZING. He really knew the character inside and out. He moved like a spider, he was strong enough to lift my boys up intheir chairs for pictures, knew movie and comic book trivia like he had really lived it, and had great conversation skills. My six-year-old LOVED it! My two-year-old thought he was pretty cool too, and kept shouting, "Man! Man! Man!"

Thing 1 & 2 were also there, and Cat in the Hat. They were funny and really knew how to interact with my kids. We got some great video and pictures. It was well worth the time, and the kids ate well enough to give them a good start for the day.
