Character Breakfast - yes/no

We love crystal palace in MK, we normally visit on are last day of our trip.
A nice way to re-visit favourite parts/rides and say goodbye (lol) It gives you an early start too, not always easy on your last day! ;)

This year we also did 'the princess breakfast' in EPCOT for our DD5. It was very good, lots of great interaction with 5 princesses and Mary Poppins, but the food is not so good is you don't like fish and strong cheeses.

With all our visits we have just done Donalds breakfastosaurus this year. The level of interaction was great we were sat in one of the side rooms which only has 4 tables so felt more intimate. Chaos reigned in the larger dinning hall which I don't think would have been as good lots of kids from other tables running around following the characters.

Also our server was great, he played tricks on people with trays of empty cups he pretended to spill and a few others I won't spoil should anyone end up with him.

Worth looking in the Unofficial guide I think where it has the guest to character ratios which can give some idea of how long you might get with the characters. We were disappointed with lunches this year and found some of the greeting trails to be much more organised.

Before booking character meals I used the ratio info in the Unofficial Guide. We didn't do any breakfasts but we did the Princess Storybook lunch (Norway, EPCOT) for my DD4 (available for breakfast too) and the Pooh and Friends lunch at the Crystal Palace at MK for my DD19mo. We found the food at both to be great the Pooh lunch is a really super buffet suitable for adults and children. I was talking to some local US Mums at the Princess lunch who said they thought the character interaction and the food was better than at the castle. We did get Cinderella on our day which I'm told is quite rare. We had a full kitchen in our accom so we prefered to breakfast early do full service lunches as the counter service restaurants are busy at lunchtime and it's a nice way to spend time out of the midday sun, we used to then grab a quick CS meal before heading back to the hotel.

We stayed off site in jan and did our first ever character meal at chef mickeys we loved it. great interaction, atmosphere and food. :thumbsup2
