Character Breakfast - yes/no

Hiya,

can anyone tell me:
1. can anyone book a character breakfast - even if staying offsite?
2. which would you recommend?

we have a while to meke up our minds as we can't book till ~October, so just need some ideas on which one (or two ) to go for if we can... we can plan our days around which park etc...

Anyone can book a character meal.

Our favs are Cinderella Royal Table in MK, Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot, Chef Mickeys in Contemporary Goofy's Beach Club Breakfast in the Beach Club.

We love the atmosphere and the food at Chef Mickey's too we will be there for a breakfast very soon along with a departure day breakfast at 1900 Park Fare which is a new one for us to experience on this trip

only ever done chef mickeys and donalds breakfastosaurus, chef mickeys was far superior.

We did Cinderella Royal Table for DD5 who loved it. Food was okay, but you really pay for the fact you are eating in the castle and have the Princesses come around to your table. DS 4 didn't mind it either. We will do this again. It might be an idea to do it very early on your trip when you are still waking up very early due to time difference.

Loved Chef Mickeys when my nephews were younger as it's loud, fun and the food is good.
Favourite now that nephews are older is Cape May Cafe as the breakfast is great and the interaction with the characters is good as well.

I've got to agree that the Cape May Cafe Breakfast at the Beach Club is probably the best food for a character breakfast. At Magic Kingdom, the Crystal Palace is good - especially if you can get and ADR for BEFORE the park actually opens.

We have done 2 character breakfasts - 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian and Crystal Palace at MK. By far and away, Crystal Palace was the best, in terms of character interaction and food. And we had an early ADR (as Ian mentioned) at 8:05 which meant we were in the park before it opened and got some great pictures of main street and the castle with no people in

Another vote for Chef Mickeys.

We have also done the Grand Floridian and Crystal palace, and neither was as good. Chef Mickeys has the best atmosphere (more lively than the GF, and more "organized" than the Crystal Palace), the best food (I think they were all supposed to be the same buffet, but CM had slightly more choice and was cooked better), and Mickey Mouse.

We had a great time at the following breakfasts:

donalds breakfastosaurus (Lots of fun, food okay)
1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian (Food was just outstanding)

In november we are trying Chef Mickeys and going back to the 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian (Departure day breakfast with virgin).

With all our visits we have just done Donalds breakfastosaurus this year. The level of interaction was great we were sat in one of the side rooms which only has 4 tables so felt more intimate. Chaos reigned in the larger dinning hall which I don't think would have been as good lots of kids from other tables running around following the characters.

Also our server was great, he played tricks on people with trays of empty cups he pretended to spill and a few others I won't spoil should anyone end up with him.

Worth looking in the Unofficial guide I think where it has the guest to character ratios which can give some idea of how long you might get with the characters. We were disappointed with lunches this year and found some of the greeting trails to be much more organised.

we'll be doing Chef Mickeys for the main four characters and Crystal Palace in MK for Winnie etc and for their french toast!! - which is a must!!

It just goes to show how much it depends upon the day. We've done 3 and found 1900 Park Fare far and away the best for food and character interaction. Chef Mickey's was great too with the bonus of the traditional characters of Mickey, Minnie etc. Crystal palace wasn't worth the money the food was mediocre and we had been there 45 minutes and eaten all we wanted before any characters came around (apart from piglet who was standing at the entrance for some of the time).

ohana was lovely we also done donalds but didn't enjoy that as much we felt rushed but with ohanas there was no rush the character interaction was fantastic and the food was delicious i'd definately go again The crystal Palace was also very good.
