Can anyone recommend any character breakfasts or restaurants for a group of people with diverse tastes and interests? My parents (55) are taking my little cousin (8) and my oldest sister (32) to WDW with them this August, and the 4 of them are as different as you could possibly get when it comes to eating out. My mother HATES eating out, sister loves it, cousin likes it but is really picky, and my dad will eat anything.

They asked me to research some character breakfasts for them, and they did not like CRT on their last visit, nor Chef Mickey. :earseek: My parents sort of favor fun, yet not boisterous (loud), atmospheres, while my sister likes elegant ones, and hates the "kiddish" ones. My cousin could care less so long as there are characters there. (Her words not mine! :) ) They also will only be doing one or two sit down meals on the trip so they want to make them good ones, so I'm trying to weed the best ones out, that have the best value, and the best food. (My sister's somewhat picky about how her "food" tastes.) Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance!

The breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the GF is a very good but not rambunctious character buffet.

How about researching 1900 Park Faire at the GF for breakfast or dinner? It's a buffet so everyone should be able to find something they like.

I would recommend the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. It's a great buffet with lots of great options for everyone & very quiet & low-key for a character meal.

Actually, we really enjoy dinner at Cape May, too. My parents (around the same age as yours) joined us for a few meals on our last trip & my Dad's favorite meal was our dinner at Cape May. They're not very into the Disney atmosphere, but really enjoyed their meal here.

I would also recommend Boma at the AKL for a great breakfast buffet - no characters here, but great food & a relaxing atmosphere. Liberty Tree Tavern is one of our favorite character dinners with great food (Thanksgiving meal that most enjoy) & usually not too loud (as compared to Chef Mickey's.) It's a great break from the parks.

Good luck whatever you decide! :teeth:

If none of those strike your fancy , you may want to look into the character meal at Gulliver's Grill at the Swan. It is a lot quieter than the character meals in the park

1900 Park Fare is our favorite character breakfast. Lots of different characters, the food is good, and the atmosphere is classy.

I agree with Arizonacolbys, Cape May is the place for breakfast and dinner. It is one of the few places my father has actually requested that we return to. My mother and I dined there this Jan and we enjoyed it verymuch. The food was very good and the atmosphere was much quieter than Chef Mickeys but the characters were there. It is also fun to see Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale in bathing attire.

I also think you'd enjoy 1900 Park Fair. Your niece would love it for the "Cinderella stuff". It's very low key and elegant for a character meal, the food is excellent with a really wide variety of choices. Kind of a step or two above the usual buffet stuff. DH really likes this buffet.

Cape May Cafe is also more low key, but does have, in my opinion, regular buffet food, nothing better than Chef Mickey.

For "regular meals", I would recommend the Grand Floridian Cafe. Elegant without being too pricey, some entrees are just a bit "daring" but not overly so and a good choice of "basic" stuff and they also make a very good hamburger and fries. Awesome chocolate fondue for dessert. Can't wait to have it again in November!!!

We also had breakfast at Olivias at OKW. Very low key, quiet and nice. Basic but good food. I'm anxious to try dinner there.

Le Cellier is always a good choice but a little louder.

Artist Point, also one of my favorites is also quiet and elegant with excellent basic dishes, a bit of a flair on a couple, not excessive at all, and the Berry Cobbler is awesome.

That's four more of our favorites.

In addition to 1900 and Cape May, I think the Crystal Palace would be a nice option for breakfast. They have a good buffet selection and the ambience is really nice.

1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace. I think any character meal is loud and energetic though. I mean afterall, it is meant for families w/ kids and we all know how excited the kids get.
