character breakfast in Animal Kingdom

I just returned from an 8 day trip with free dining! I was really pleased with the food in most cases but we did have a kind of bad experience with the Donald Character breakfast in Animal Kingdom. The food wasn't all that great on the buffet but what made it crazy was that we felt extremely rushed through our meal. It was also the loudest restaurant Ive been to at Disney World (WAY too much stimuli that early in the morning for those of us not used to kids LOL) I felt like the wait staff did everything but yank the camera out of my hands to take the pictures faster! It was like..EAT...Take pictures...hurry up...here's another character...let us take the pic so you don't have to take two of them...now pay your bill and leave! Rush rush rush! It wasn't the relaxed atmosphere that we have come to enjoy at Disney restaurants! And we (my sister and I) were also disappointed that Daisy Duck wasn't there. You'd think that at a Dnald and friends character meal that Daisy would have made an appearance.
It is really the only meal Ive had a complaint about over the past 4 years so I guess that's not too bad a record. Anyone else feel rushed at that meal?

Yes, very much so.

I'll never eat there again due to our experiences there.

We've done a lot of characters meal and that was without a doubt the worst one. Characters didn't even stay long enough to sign the book just a few seconds to take ONE - not two, one - pic.
There are 4 characters at Breakfastausorus, and I have exactly four pictures from our breakfast. I have 14 from CP and over 40 from LTT - not that a character meal should be judged on the amount of photos one gets, but it's rather revealing.

Food was good - keep in mind though that we're not from the US and for us pancakes and Krispy Kremes are a rare treat - but we don't go to character meals for the food, we go for the characters.

Hopefully the new Safari breakfast will be better. Daisy will be at that one!

Do you know when that is planned to open? I am going to spend the whole day at AK this time around for the first time ever. I refuse to go to Donald's because I have only heard terrible things.

It should open in November, I think the 17th. They're not taking ADRs yet, but I was told "any day now" the last time I called.

Does anyone know which characters will be at the new one? My son just requested that he eat with "his girl" Minnie Mouse. Schedule-wise, if she's at the new AK one, it would work out great. Otherwise we'll have to squeeze CM in there somewhere.

eelore, so they have pancakes at this breakfast. I'm looking for a character breakfast that serves pancakes. It a must for our DS9. He's a pancakes fan not waffles or french toast. I'm sorry to hear about being rushed. We're going in February 08 so I've got some time I think. I was on the fence for this breakfast, Cape May or Chef Mickey's. I believe I was told that Cape May had the waffles not pancakes. Sometimes planning can be so much fun. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope when this breakfast opens up at a new location in will be not so rushed.

Ditto,this was the only one I was disappointed with.I am looking forward to trying the new breakfast buffet due to open in November - hope it opens in time.Well be there 1st Dec,
