I already have many ADR's made, but have been thinking about adding one more character breakfast. I'm debating between the Playhouse Disney or Donald's Safari Breakfast. Either one would work with our "schedule" for our trip. Does anyone have experience with either, and any preferences/tips? DS is 2.5 and this will be his first trip to WDW, so I want to start him off right so that he is hooked on the mouse for life just like his papa.

I've never done the Safari Breakfast so I can't comment on that. The playhouse dismey one is a lot of fun. The characters are so good with the kids, have great character interaction and they get the kids up to dance with them and the "hosts" throughout the meal. THe food is a bit lacking but then again many of the buffets fall in that category. If you can swing it- i know it was not on your list- but the crystal palace breakfast with pooh and friends is terrific.

I've not done the Safari one either, but we did the lunch at Playhouse Disney and it was great. The character interaction was fabulous and the kids got to dance together to the hot dog dance. Even though my little one was under the weather, she loved it!

I had a friend that told me his family did the safari breakfast and hate it...food was that bad!...We loved breakfast at the Castle but you most likely are too late for that...what about 1900 Parkfare? we loved it!

We did the Safarione for Bkfst and did the playhouse Disney one for lunch. Both were nice, I think it more depends on which characters you think your DS would rather see, and which park you'd like to visit!

We did the character breakfast that had the Little Einsteins last year, and just a warning - THEIR HEADS ARE HUGE :rotfl: Freaked out my DS (3.5 at the time) and he cried thru the whole meal. Granted it was his first time as Disney and there were lots of things that he was scared of, but the Little Einsteins topped his list.

He loved the breakfast at Cape May with Goofy, Minnie, and Chip or Dale (can't tell them apart so we always refer to them as Chip or Dale when we see one.....)

Next week :cool1: we'll be trying CP, he's excited about seein Pooh and Co.

Chris

Im not sure what you have booked, but i would say crystal palace. Its real nice being in the park before everyone else and they have great food. My 3 year old loves pooh. Also Chef mickeys not sure if you are going here but you def. should. I think its the best one. Good luck

My kids were older than toddlers but LOVED the Playhouse Disney lunch we did. The characters spent a lot of time with the kids and visited each table numerous times. There are also cast members who get the kids up and dancing and the characters join in. ITA - their heads are ENORMOUS!:rotfl:

I haven't done either yet, but I'm for the Playhouse Disney.
Playhouse Disney has a shelf life...kids will outgrow Playhouse Disney long before Donald and gang.
You can meet the Fab 5 characters in every park, even at different places in the park. Playhouse Disney characters are only at HS, and only at dinner or outside the show. So thier lines get INCREDIBLY long! I'd rather get pics in an airconditioned resturaunt!

We're there for 2 weeks and we've planned donalds safari breakfast, chef mickeys and CRT breakfast- our kids are boys age 5 & 19mo(when we travel) and girls age 10 & 4.

Where is the playhouse disney one held? My boys would love that (feel I should do something for them as the castle is very much for the girls)

We did Safari and we thought the breakfast was good. (you, know the typical buffet breakfast)
It is always good to see Donald first thing in the AM.:thumbsup2

It is at DHS, at Hoolywood & Vine, for breakfast and lunchtime, and features the Little Einsiens and Jo Jo. We have it booked for Seppt!

We did both on our Jan trip with DS (22 months at the time) and they were both good. It seemed a little quieter and more character interaction at the Playhouse Disney breakfast. It wasn't nearly as busy. I thought the food was much better at the Safari breakfast.

DS7 says Chip has one tooth and a black nose, Dale has 2 teeth and a red nose.

OP - We've done Donald's breakfast and liked it, so if AK just works better for you that day, I'd definitely say go for it. But, though I haven't been to the Playhouse Disney one, I agree with what someone else said about the potential to outgrow it. - As it sounds like you are planning to go back, and if location isn't a factor, I would lean toward Playhouse this time and Donald's next time.

Chip's nose is like a chocolate chip (small and dark) and Dale's is big and red. That's the way I remember it.

We did both of these on our October trip, and I'd pick the Playhouse Disney breakfast hands-down. Lots of great character interaction, and we liked the food much better than at the Safari breakfast a few mornings later.

In the past we've done Chef Mickey's, CRT, Princess breakfast in Norway, Crystal Palace, 'Ohana's...:rotfl: am I missing any there? We'd put the Playhouse Disney in the top three and the Safari breakfast towards the bottom.

We have already have Cape May, Akershus, and Crystal Palace booked for breakfast. Put some thought into DS's interest in Jojo, none so far, and that has me leaning toward Donald. Although DW hinted it wouldn't be a bad day to work in another sleep in/pool/sea sprite morning. Who can complain at that? If I'm at WDW, then I'm happy. It's pretty simple.

PollyannaMom, I almost forgot. Yes we definately have future trips to try other breakfasts. I'm actually started working on Dec 08 trip plans yesterday. We love knowing that we already have the next trip booked before we depart for the current trip. Not that it is ever easy to leave WDW, but it does help a little knowing that our next countdown is already ticking.;)
