We are planning on doing a couple of character breakfasts at the parks (Crystal Palace with Pooh and Tusker House with Donald). From people's experience- is it best to arrange these breakfast on days that the park has the extra magic hour or on another day? I was thinking that if MK is opening an hour early and you have breakfast ressies than you would probably be missing out of that extra time in the park?:confused3

I wouldn't do a character breakfast at a park that had EMH. By the time you finish eating, people will already be in the park with lines and such. I guess of course it would sort of depend on when you were going too. But for me, I'd only do a character breakfast in the park if it were not an EMH morning. For example, this past trip we had 8:05am reservations for breakfast at Crystal Palace. We were able to walk into the park which was empty and go to breakfast. After we ate, we went straight to Fantasy Land to wait for rope drop. It was awesome! I'll never forget how DH, myself and 3 DD's were jogging to Peter Pan's Flight once the rope dropped! It was so much fun and everyone was laughing and we were the 2nd people in line to ride! :thumbsup2

Thanks! That was exactly what I was thinking. Seemed like a waste of EMH to me!

Make your 8am ADRs at the parks when the park opens at 9am. That way you get into the park early to take pictures and you get your meal done before rope drop. We've done 8am ADRs at Tusker House before AK, Crystal Palace before MK and Hollywood and Vine before DHS rope drops -- love them!!.

It's a total waste to spend the EMH time from 8-9am eating at the park instead of touring. We absolutely love early EMHs because they are less crowded and you get get so much done in that hour, especially at FantasyLand with little ones

I am trying to talk my mommy into Hollywood and Vine breakfast, but she said she wants to try lunch since we are doing 3 breakfasts already....but I love breakfast!!!! So maybe I can bribe her with the getting in before rope drop :woohoo:

We did Hollywood and Vine breakfast at 8:30am and it was great! The food was really good there and because it's a buffet, it doesn't take too long to eat because you get your food right away!:thumbsup2 This was another of our favorite breakfasts because we got in before the park opened! :goodvibes

I have only done the character breakfast at Tusker House before and I loved getting in the park early! I may have to pull at my sweet face and ask mom to change her mind on Hollywood and Vine....does that still work at 28??? :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Yep! That's what we always do. So cool to get those early morning empty park pictures.

Don't go for an early reservation in an EMH park. That'll waste the most productive park time and just put you in a crowded park after breakfast.

An option to consider is a late breakfast reservation in an EMH park -- do 2+ hours of rides, and then have a nice brunch before hopping to the next park...

This trip we're going to EMH at MK at 8am then having breakfast at Crystal Palace at 10 am.

After breakfast we plan on leaving the park and heading back to our resort for a pool break.

Just another idea...

Getting a later breakfast ressie on a EMH day is a great idea! Thanks all!

I'm so glad that you asked this question!! I have been
wondering this exact same thing!

When we ate at the parks we would go for EMH AM and have a little later breskfast...like between 9-10...then again this was over Christmas when MK and AK opened at 7 am for EMH.

That's EXACTLY what we do! :thumbsup2

I find it best to do these breakfasts the day of regular park hours. If you obtain an early ADR (8am - 8:15ish) then you are in the park 1 hr before opening and likely will be done with your meal and at the inner rope before the front of the park does rope drop.

:) It just makes me feel like I accomplished so much before the park even opened.
