We'd like to do a character breakfast at a hotel (don't want to use a day of our passes to enter the parks since we'll be flying out midday.) We'll have an almost 5 year old and 6 year old girls in our party.

I've looked through the various options and am wondering exactly what characters people are seeing at these places. I thought I read someone saw Prince Charming at the Mary Poppins meal?! These are the places we're considering and my hesitations/concerns with each one:

1900 Park Fare -- Atmosphere sounds great, but will the kids be thrilled with Mary Poppins and Alice?

Cape May Cafe -- how's the food?

Chef Mickeys -- our travelling companions have eaten here often and want to try something new.

Ohana's with Lilo and Stitch -- my DD is not a big fan of Lilo or Stitch -- she also doesn't like "different" food.

Thanks for any info!

I was going to recommend a character dinner and go to 1900 for dinner with the Cinderella.
We've like Chef Mickey's, and enjoyed their breakfast. Not very "girly", though.
My 4.5 year old would be disappointed with Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks, I know DD would love the Cinderella dinner because we've done the Princess lunch at Disneyland and it's a big hit. But, due to schedule, this has to be a breakfast.

My DD9 LOVES 1900. That's our favorite.
Next choice would be Cape May Cafe, we never miss either of these.

I have not done Ohana, we have an ADR for next trip.

I will say that 1900 or Ohana are the most easliy accessible, if you do not have a car.

Last year during our HM, we had our post wedding farewell breakfast for several of our guests at Cape May. I though the food was really good, and the buffet had a good selection. The characters were also really interactive. We saw Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale and maybe also Pluto? :thumbsup2

Just DH and I dined at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast later that week, and I was really disappointed in the food. :sad2:

I do love the Alice characters and wanted to see them, so that was cool, but the buffet and restaurant atmosphere just didn't do it for me. Note they also have the Pooh characters if your children like them. The characters we saw: Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger. They did stop at each table and make a fuss over the kids, so your kids may enjoy that.

We have yet to try Ohanas or Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast. For some reason, I'm afraid to go in there (CM's) It looks like it's a crazy kid haven sometimes!

Another notable character breakfast (but in a park) is Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We had a great time at that one!

I too was going to suggest the 1900 Fare dinner with Cinderella/Fairy Godmother/Prince Charming/Suzy/Perla. It seems to have gotten great reviews here, we'll be going in December.

My family loves the Ohana breakfast. The food isn't different, in my opinion. The food is served Family Style (big skilllet in the middle of the table). You get all the mickey head waffles you can eat, along with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and maybe potatoes (not sure on those). There's also fruit and pineapple bread. My picky 5 year old ate the food like there was no tomorrow.

Ohana's also has Mickey and Chip & Dale, so it's not just Lilo and Stitch. Neither of my boys (ages 5 and 8) are huge Lilo & Stitch fans, but they liked meeting them because they were "different characters" than the same ones we'd seen quite a few times already.

Have fun, no matter what your decision! :smickey:

Cape May! Love it, best food in terms of a buffet and always faboo character interaction. :goodvibes

We ate at Cape May last week. The characters we saw were Goofy, Chip or Dale, and Minnie. The food was actually pretty good, which surprised me. It was a buffet, and they also had a great yogurt bar with lots of great toppings.
