We are planning on getting the DDP for our upcomig trip. Am I correct to think we will lose money for the day if adults ate at Crystal Palace or Ohana's for breakfast? I believe those meals cost 18.99 for adults and 10.99 for kids. If the meal plan cost us $37.99 a day we would need to find a CS and a snack that would add up to $19 for each adult.

But on the other hand, for our 4 year old we would be making money... The kids meal is $10.99 and we are paying $9.99 for him to eat for the day, so he would get a kids meal and snack for free.....

I know they seperate the TS meals for kids and adults. But can we pay out of pocket for the adult meals at the character breakfasts and use the DDP for our son's meal? Then eat a TS that night and have our son eat off our plate or pay out of pocket for his kids meal which would be around $7.49?

I am trying to be ethical and still get the most bang for our buck.

We are 2 adults, one 4 year old boy and one 18 month princess.

With taxes your family BE for snacks and CS meals is just under $34 for the day.

You can pay OOP. I wouldn't though. If you want that meal go for it. Don't try to maximize $ daily. You're going to get a $52 TS meal (CP total with taxes) everyday, most times it'll be more, so on average you'll do fine. We paid OOP for the adults at Chef Mickey's breakfast. It was our least expensive TS meal, but we paid because we booked a 2TS meal, thus leaving us short one TS creadit. Had we not had a 2TS meal we have definitely used a credit there.

Bang for the buck for us is a full, happy family eating on the DP budget. Ordering because its expensive or choosing for the same reason doesn't quite add up for us. We chose based on experiences and menu. We loved our meals and meal experiences.

it's not too hard to work out since for us planning our meals is just as much part of the holiday as going itself - especially since you have to make ADR's for ts meals.

we've gone through the menus and generally said what we would prob order at any given restaurant - when we add it all up and put it in our spread sheet that tells us if we are using a ts credit or oop

that said there are 2 places we are using oop instead of ts credit simply because we want to pick where we sit - Poly's dinner Luau is one - and the Hoop dee doo review is the other

other wise we pay opp for the cheaper meal. plus you can split the cheque (not sure if at least 1 adult has to use the ddp if you are using it for the kids though - might want to confirm)
