Character auditions?? When you audition..are you also trying out for...

fur characters?? My daughter had her interview on Thursday and the person asked her about character performance, but she had that checked off. My daughter has an extensive background in dancing however she is not sure if she will try out (if she gets into the program) or not because she does not want to be a fur character. If you go the audition and win a role and it happens to be a fur character I think she said you have to take it. Does anyone have experience on this???

Anyone who does a face character/show/parade also does fur characters. You don't JUST do one thing unless you're working FT/PT as a job there or are doing the Union shows and not DCP.

If you don't mind me asking, why does she not want to do fur? Is it cuz shed be stuck in a hot costume? I think I remember hearing that if someone does have a hard time with it, they relocate them. For me, I hate even having a blanket over my head(bad experiences as a child) but I want to be a character performer very badly! Part of why I'm cool with it is because you're never in the costume for more than 30 min, tops 45. One of my dear friends is mouse height and she doesn't like being in there longer than she should be, so she definitely tells me when she was in there for a long time!

If she attends the audition, she's auditioning for Fur. Some may get face/parades as a bonus, but that would be on top of fur. Everyone does fur and it would be a fur role that is offered to her.
