Character Attendant role? (Not CP)

Hello all, I'm graduating from college with my MA in English next December and my family and I plan on moving to Florida around the new year. Of course my plan is to work for Disney and my dream role has always been working with characters. I'd love to be a princess myself, but since I'm a little overweight and my teeth are not perfect I don't think that's a very realistic goal. I'd live to be a character attendant though, but I have no idea how one goes about applying to that role if one isn't doing CP. I have searched the Disney careers site but have never seen anything about it. Any help or suggestions?

You just apply for it on the Disney careers site if they're hiring for it. The wait list for full time is 2-3 years

I am planning on moving down in a couple of years and want to work part time. They have a great twitter page to follow. @DisneyParksJobs I check it at least weekly, but it updates daily, and is easier to follow than the website, imo. Good Luck.

I don't know if I'd say the wait list is 2-3 years. I got CA in under a month,and I know others who have gotten it pretty quickly

My roommate has been on the list since January 2013, so I was speaking from personal experience. My friend Jacey waited from May 2012 to about a month ago.

Starting rate for Character Attendant as of last year was $8.20, probably up by $0.15-$0.20 now.
