Has anyone flown recently with chapstick? I know that solid lipstick is on the allowed list and since I'm flying soon wondered if solid chapstick was being allowed as well. I recently bought an "all natural chapstick that's mostly sunflower & coconut oil and wax.

Anybody know?

I just flew back on Thursday with a Burt's Bees chapstick and there was no problem. I believe as long as it is solid and not a gel, it is allowed.

My SIL flew back last week with her chapstick also and had no problems. So you should be set as long as the chapstick is solid.

Just flew saturday....no problems with chapstick, not even a blink of the eye

So, the TSA document says that chapstick is allowed, except for brands like Carmex and Blistex. I have 5 or so Carmex sticks (not the jelly-like tubes or tubs). (Yes, I know it's an obsession.) Do you think I will be okay with these? I have to have it with me.

LOL! I am worried about the same thing. I HAVE to have Carmex, nothing else will do!!. I don't know what I will do if I have to pack it in my checked luggage.

If it's a stick, I think it would be OK. It says it is for cold sores, the others maybe OK as a non-prescription medication under 4 oz.

I've flown several times under the new rules and I don't think they are looking too hard for small stuff. Last week I discovered I had a small bottle of eyeglass cleaner in my laptop bag (unintentional), it had gone thorugh x-ray at least 4 times and hand checked once. They did catch a half bottle of water I accidentally left in my carryon bag at the x-ray. I haven't seen them doing hand checks at the gate since the first week.

Yes - HAVW to have my chapstick. I knew someone else would understand!!! ;) I'm just worried that by the time I check my bag, I won't be able to save it. It hurts to think my precious Carmex could get thrown out. Plus, we're using DME, so I won't have access to my checked bags for a while (we're hitting the parks as soon as we get there).

I'm just going to bring a few back-up tubes of chapstick to see what works. I'll go nuts if I can't have at least one kind.
