I think it is addicting. I need something on my lips at all times. If my chapstick isn't handy, then I reach for my lipgloss and vice versa. I don't think its a bad thing.

My husband and daughters are big users of chapstick - I have seldom used it maybe twice a year. When we go out I put on lip gloss or lip stick though but we don't go out that often. I think they NEED to use it but I also think that the more you use it the more you need it.

I chap below my lip. I found Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy REMEDIES lip and face balm. Can be also used on nose when it gets red and tender. Works for me.

Chapstick IS addicting - so people will buy more! There is something in it that makes it addictive - I won't touch the stuff because of that, don't need another addiction. Plus, it really doesn't do much help.

Burt's Bees is a good lip balm to use, and isn't addictive like Chapstick. I LOVE Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers, which are just lip balms with color - wonderful.

Carmex is also a great one for chapped stick - and usually under a buck.

Another Confession....
I am addicted to Bonne Bell Lipsmackers. Have been since I was a teen (when they came out, but they originally were very fat, like three times the size they are now). I have one in my purse, my desk, my car, my bedstand, my bathroom, kitchen - yikes, it is bad. I would freak out without them. But it does seem like my lips never are "unchapped", even though I use the stuff 24/7, my poor lips are always dry.

And I always have to have a large assortment of flavors. For instance if DD17 steals my watermelon, I have to buy a new one right away.

My DH thinks I am NUTS for using Chapstick all of the time. I cannot go to sleep without it! I even put it on BEFORE I eat! Is that strange?

I use chapstick a lot, but my DH is a total chapstick junkie - gets the shakes if he doesn't have one with him!

A little tip girls - use some chapstick around your eyes at bedtime - keeps the crows feet away!
