Chaos on the roads

I have just spoken to my neighbour who comes the same way home as DH it has taken her an hour and half to drive a mile. Do gritters have to have a week off when they have done a nights work!!!! the roads around our area have not been gritted although it forcast more snow they are now trying to go out but are stuck in all the traffic they should have been out gritting earlier this afternoon. it will probably be after ten tonight when Dh gets home having gone out to work this morning before seven. This wonderful country we live in

My mom drives from Wednesbury to Stourbridge, she left at 4:30 to a jouney that normally takes 30 mins and shes by the black country musuem which is about 4 miles away...she reckons shes going to be another couple of hours

well she got back at 8pm after slipping and sliding home...only took nearly 4 hours to do a normal 30 min journey!

DH arrived safely home about 8.30 - he started the drive home about 5.30 to do a 20 minute journey - not too bad compared to some horror stories we have heard.

As usual, Nuneaton came to it's usual standstill around rush hour due to the snow, it took hubby 1/2 hour to travel 1/2 mile - ridiculous !! Let's hope this is the last we see of the snow for this year

We just crawled down the motorway at 30mph, lots of the main roads near us haven't been gritted.

Can't believe after all the chaos last night woke up this morning and all the snow has gone!!!!

I was due over to Ireland to see my Granny last night and my flight was cancelled. Stuck at home with the thawing snow now instead!
