Chantelle's Planning Journal-YCG/CG/Morrocco DP-AND WE'RE OFF!!!!!!!!

So instead of packing up my massive pile of clothing and getting ready for the big move, I have been working on my centerpieces. I liked the idea of the mickey head arrangement, but I am not a big fan of topiaries. My fiance suggested we put them in some sort of glass vase, so this is what I have come up with.

Please excuse my fiance in the photo. I haven't glued mickey's ears on yet.

That is very cute! And unique. Love the colors

Wow! Everything for your wedding looks great!! I love your dress, invitations, and centerpieces so much! You have great taste :goodvibes Thanks for sharing!

We ordered the tuxes last night through Carolyn Allens and got confirmation this morning. One more thing to strike off the list! It would have been done sooner, but I have been nagging my fiance for weeks to go get his measurements.

This photo shows the tuxedo we have chosen for all the guys and the vest color for the best man and groomsman. I have chosen the green to match my bridesmaids dresses.

My fiance will have the tuxedo above with the following vest in champagne (to match my dress). I wanted my fiance to stand out from the other guys and wanted to make sure we would look good together for the photos of just the two of us so we have gone with the two different vest colors.

Fellow Canadian!!! AMAZING planning journal! This is just wonderful. You are so talented! I love it. Best of luck and congrats on the new home!

Most of my spare time lately has been spent designing. I guess the 8 hours in front of the computer at work each day isn't enough for me.

I had to make about 70 invitations for the reception we are having back home so they are a lot simpler then my wedding invitations. I even got my fiance to help with this batch since putting the rivets on the side required him drilling holes into the invitation. Here is the final product:

I didn't get a picture, but there was a second page with a map and explaining the movie night we are having the friday night before.

I have also just finished our newsletter and it got mailed out to our wedding guests with their reception invitations. Here's what it looks like:

Finally, in the midst of all my packing lately, I came across these that I forgot I had bought in the summer. They were only like $4 from Walmart, but I thought they were really cute. Hopefully the fiance appreciates them.

I LOVE that! It is very elegant Disney!

My fiance is working on the newsletter for ours too. We are sending it out in a little over a month and I think I am going to have him look over what you wrote on there, I never thought of listing the attendants, I really like that! Everything looks great!

So my fiance booked everyone's flights months ago and on tuesday Delta called him to inform us that the flight we had booked was cancelled. I should have known this whole wedding/trip planning was going much too smooth up until this point.

Our options are to transfer to the (much) earlier flight and end up with less time in Disney on the last day or Delta will give us a full refund and we can book with a different airline. We have looked at other airlines and the flights are all going to cost more then what we paid for our original flights. If it was only $60 more or so for the two of us it would be fine, but we are also paying for flights for my brother and two sisters so it adds up. On the upside, the Canadian dollar continues to climb and our overall wedding costs could end up being a lot cheaper then expected.

My fiance loves searching for flights so I am sure we will find a solution. It is just frustrating to have booked something and have it cancelled.

We also spent last weekend moving and surprisingly it went very smooth, except we do seem to be missing a box of towels. I will have to add it to our wedding gift wish list I am supposed to be getting to my maid of honour.

We also are already pissed off at the new neighbours because they decided it was a good idea to back the moving truck right up to their front door, but decided to use our driveway/yard rather then their own. It is all muddy so now we have huge moving truck tracks in our new yard. Not a smart way to make a good impression. It mad us especially mad since we moved in a few days before and didn't want to drive the truck on the driveway and mess it up, then they came in and did it anyway because they are ignorant.

Your neighbors are so rude! I'd be angry too! And I'm sorry to hear about the flights. Delta seems to do that a lot and it's really lame.

On a happier note :), I love your newsletter. How did you make it? Is there a special program to use?

I used Adobe Illustrator to create the newsletter. It is a graphic/layout program that I use all the time for work. My fiance watched me creating the newsletter and had no idea what I was doing, but it comes pretty easy to me since I am a graphic designer. He complains that I spend too much time working on things, but it is hard when you are designing something for yourself.

I have also read other girls have used microsoft word and their newsletters have looked very good. Powerpoint can also be a good layout program sometimes depending on what you are doing, then you can just print the slides. I did this in school before I bought the actual design programs.

I think I have Adobe Illustrator on my work computer. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the info!! I'm sure I'll need a lot of time to work on it b/c I'm not very artistically inclined ;)

After spending all saturday searching, I think I finally found a pair of shoes I am happy with for the wedding. I swear this was one of the most difficult parts of the wedding planning. I just couldn't seem to find anything in the right color and in a style that I liked. I didn't think it would be that hard to find a pair of beige shoes!! I finally decided on these light gold shoes with the pearl detail. I took them to the wedding store to hold up against my dress and they match very well. They don't quite match the reception dress like I had wanted, but they do look cute with the shorter dress and should work okay.

I love the centerpieces you created, as well as your wedding dress, and invitations...great choices overall. :D

My sister went to visit my Grandma over the weekend and I found out she had printed my whole planning journal to share with Grandma. I have never been close to my Grandma and our relationship has further drifted since my dad passed away, so it was good to hear how excited my Grandma was to read my entire planning journal. She has vision problems so I know this was no easy feat for her. I will have to make her a photo book after the wedding since she isn't able to come.

The crappy thing is it just further enforces how uninvolved and uncaring my mother has seemed to be about my whole wedding. The one time she did seem to show some interest by offering to go wedding dress shopping with me, it turned into her shopping for a wedding dress for herself to marry a man she had known 3 months. From there, I then got to listen to her boyfriend repeatedly tell me how ignorant I am for having my wedding in Disney World and that my marriage will be illegitimate because it is not in the Catholic church. Not a good way to build relationships and make me like you!

They have since married, but there have been so many problems in the past year that have led to her not attending my wedding. I can't stomach the thought of her being there, but I don't want her there either. It will be hard enough dealing with not having my dad there, but to actually have a my mom who is alive and able to come, but then not be there makes it really hard. I know she is staying away to try and make it easier on me and my siblings, but if she hadn't been so selfish in the first damn place and put her *** of a husband first for everything we would never be in this mess.

On a happier note, while reading the threads about the cinderella swarovski tiara, I remembered that I had gotten an ornament of it for Christmas and I thought I would share it with everyone. I thought the actual tiara was really cool, but didn't actually think it would be something I wanted to wear. This allowed me to have the tiara in a different form and everytime I hang it on my Christmas tree I will be reminded of my Disney wedding.

If you want one, you can ocassionally find them on ebay. I just looked up "cinderella tiara ornament".

How did you receive the signed picture of Mickey and Minnie? Did you write to them at a specific address?

Thank you! Kelli Ann

To receive the signed picture from Mickey and Minnie, I just mailed them one of my wedding invitations. The address to send it to is:

Mickey & Minnie Mouse
The Walt Disney Company
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

It is the Disneyland address, but it works if you send them it for your Disneyworld wedding. I got it back in about 4 weeks.

Hope this helps!

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your mom. Sounds like her not being there is sad, but perhaps will work out in the end if her presence would stress you out.

Great journal; keep it up!

Yay! My bridesmaids dresses came in over the weekend, but still no sign of my dress. As of yesterday, it is exactly two months until the big day, so no need to start stressing over the dress quite yet. Here's how the bridesmaids dresses turned out in the colors I chose. I think they will look very good.

I also came across some shoes that match the bridesmaid dresses quite well so I went ahead and bought them for my dismaids. Hopefully they like them and they fit. They were only $10 at Walmart so if they fit it will be great and if not I will just return them.

Last week I also got in the fibre optic bouquet I ordered off of e-bay through Avon. It is pretty cool when it is light up and I think it will work perfectly for the bouquet toss I plan to do at our home reception. Should be fun to toss it all light up in the dark.

I also got our logo embroidered on a hoodie a few weeks back so I thought I would share it with everyone.

My hoodie in ivory to match my dress. I may have to wear it at the dessert reception depending how chilly it gets.
